So they could still deliver to an npc custodian and these bones would still be buried in the crypt, and it'd still count in Legolas's favour?

Also since the dogs made me think of the monster Legolas fought: would stabbing them in those (PHONE WTF) red eyes do more good or something? Is it anything like that thing from the river? Or would it still need be some sort of enchanted weapon?
