January Boon Requests

Hey fairybroskis! You know what time it is? Boon time!

Requests are up, which means the fairies and imps are out and about bothering people from their respective factions to note down the number one item on their wishlist again!




Wherever Shardbearer characters are in the Drabwurld, at some point today they will be approached by fairies or imps, depending on their alignment, bearing a piece of parchment and a quill. They will urge your character to write down a request for an item, power or favour from their monarchs in exchange for fighting or supporting their faction and they will take it away through a fairy-ring when it is written. There are three easy rules your character will be informed MUST NOT be broken:

1) "Do not call for time and space to be bent to your will!"

2) "You may not request another's true love or devotion!"

3) "Ask not for a road home or the loved ones whence you came!"

Essentially, the OOC boundaries relayed through IC means to your character are to avoid game-breaking demands being made. They will be approved, altered or denied here until 24th JANUARY (00:01am LONDON GMT) so that when your character receives their boon on the morning of 25th (you can pick any time for them to be delivered/show up) no matter where they are there is no fuss, no muss!

This month, everybody who participated in war preparations gets a boon! Feel free to link to any threads (completed or ongoing) that will show your character getting involved in the event this month: only actual participation (not referenced participation) will warrant a boon. For those using quest logs to count as both quest material and as boons, you could have gone a good measure over minimum wordcount to receive your boon: ideally having another 200 words or so.

POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: Clearly that can't happen and it's not her domain yet, but something possibly related to her presence in the Falls or... ff, I have no clue. She's got manipulation coins and cloaks, but she needs something that will keep people safe. Or she wants that, at least.

BOON REQUEST: "Upgrade on mirror transportation."
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: This could go a few ways. Either upgrading so he doesn't have to have two mirrors at each location to make sure one's constantly active and just have one set be a permanent tunnel (the other side activates via the sigil on the mirror he's using), make it so he can take more than just himself through the mirrors, or so that he can have one 'home' mirror that he can visit all the other portals through and come back through. So one that goes from Coth to Glaem, and then he can come back to Coth and pop over to Troich, then back to Coth... etch. If these aren't viable, I'm open to alternatives.

BOON REQUEST: 2 badgermoles for the citadel.
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: korra will make it absolutely clear to the fairies that if the monarchs want the citadel to have the best and strongest standing it possibly can, then badgermoles are the best way to go for excavating into the mountainside. they're the original earthbenders -- and huge, besides -- and with a little bit of music you can train them to do almost anything. not to mention they're foul tempered and protective of their territory, so they'll make great guardians of the mountain.

POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: I'd really like to get back his book abilities, or close to it. Near the beginning of the tv series, Damon had the ability to control fog (why, I don't know. Wtf, man. It's fog. What're you going to do, damp someone to death?) and had a sort of crow familiar. In the books, he can turn into a crow. I'd like to stick closer to show for the crow bit for now, so potentially a crow or raven familiar that he can control and see/hear through, using it to deliver messages if he needs to. Alternately, fff, I have no idea. Go nuts.

POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: That's obviously vague, but I had two different thoughts!
1 - The ability to make shadows into solid objects such as weapons, furniture, etc. (Maybe even creatures? Or that could be a future boon powerup thing.)
2 - Some sort of connection to the forest itself. Preferably one that won't kill her if it's destroyed.

So, yes, this would have to be altered dramatically. I was wondering if it was possible to have the altered to something that she can use or tap into much more freely, something similar to the Outsider's gifts! Basically having it be a temporary power boost in terms of her vitality and possibly strength. But it shouldn't be anywhere near like in-game hysteria, where she's invincible. What I was thinking is something she can only use for such a limited time or it becomes too much of a strain mentally and physically for her. But if that's not doable, I'm willing to work around it. I just hope my alteration makes sense!

BOON REQUEST: A power up to his depowered raising the dead ability! When he arrived in-game, this ability was capped: "Only works on dead animals/NPCs, max of 7 animals total, will require intense concentration to maintain, leaving the Outsider unable to do much else."
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: Another magic gem for the Drowned Crown (maybe something to let it work during the day?). Or Ceit the Siren's panties, idk.

CANON: Fate/Stay Night.
FACTION: Unseelie.
RELEVANT THREAD(S):

• Quest! - Speaking with Celebwen to ensure that any Seelie troops that pass through the Loch have some enjoyable nightmares.
• Commission! - Speaking with the General of the Unseelie forces to bolster their communications. While this thread is mostly complete, there will be a log up soon for installation once details are sorted out.
• She will also be on the front lines assisting with wards and boundary fields. This has been referenced to here and here. There's a log up to discuss it further with other relevant parties here.
• She's also managing a lacrosse team?? That... counts... right??

BOON REQUEST: "In my world there exists a particular dagger that can sever any familiar's bond with their master. Bring it to me. If you must know a name for it, the dagger I seek is the Rule Breaker: All Spells Must Be Broken."
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: “This is a sword of negation and betrayal, that nullifies every kind of magecraft in the world.”

Rin is asking for the Noble Phantasm / magical artifact that belongs to a Servant which is the biggest stretch in Fate/Stay Night but it is what it is. Seriously, how did Caster get this, who knows!!! The Rule Breaker is a dagger that can sever the bond between a familiar and a Master. In the context of Fate/Stay Night it transfers the Command Seals over to Caster when she uses it against Archer and Saber as well as their pacts. Since Rin is no Caster class Servant, I think a good adjustment would be that it can break the bond, but can't transfer the power over to her (so no additional Command Spells or familiars). As a ceremonial dagger, it has no real value in combat even if the blade is sharp enough to cut cleanly through bone. Rin does have the magical potential to wield a weapon like this (as she's used a more powerful one in another route) so it's a matter of whether or not she can claim something that belongs to another.

If she can't receive an item like that, something to help her multiple businesses will be fine. Workers, supplies, or anything of that nature that could be waiting for her down south would be suitable.

RELEVANT THREAD(S): Link #1 Link #2 Link 2 is ongoing (my fault, I was on vacation) and Shijima plans to offer assistance to Beatrix re: setting things up or whatever the other woman comes up with. She's a little bored.
BOON REQUEST: "Travel is annoying. I've noticed you limited my Tenpenka, so I can't even take a form better suited to distances. Let me at least shift into a beast with wings." Basically she wants some of her tenpenka unlocked, as she can only shift herself into human form in addition to cat. Which doesn't bother her overmuch, but after so much travel she has to admit she would like alternative travel options offered by certain forms. Like a bird. Never tell Kouichi. The dumb owl would have a field day.
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: Whatever's clever I'm down with anything tbh. That's just what Shijima wants at this point.

RELEVANT THREAD(S): Link #1 Link #2 Ryan asking Rachel to go on a spy mission with him and Open log, all of which are ongoing.
BOON REQUEST: "I'm from a city. I'm used to instant travel. How am I supposed to help in the war if I can't get to places fast enough? Someone told me about a ring he has that can take him anywhere around this world. I want one, too."
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: As far as Ryan's concerned he's going to try and make a case for himself that he can be a lot more useful if he has a teleportation device that allows him to pop in and out of both Seelie and Unseelie territory since he's been equip with a few other useful boons to defend himself and gather intel (invisibility flower crown, water powers, etc.) He's going off of what Maglor told him about his moon-travel ring so maybe something similar but he can only travel by sunlight?

POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: Beatrix would actually just write 'I request a faster means of transportation due to my obligations.' because she is way too polite to ask for this, but this is what she doesn't know she wants but really does! Basically the airship itself, along with some alteration that would allow it to fly in this world, since there isn't any mist!

A possible alteration would be any faster means of travel, really! Forgot this bit!

BOON REQUEST:
I'm not sure how to word this, because I don't want to ask for like- Elsa's ice to be able to turn into stone, but, that's kind of what I'd like. I'd like to find a way to make her magic a little more permanent, even if it's a limited ability. like let's say she needs to build a quick shelter while traveling, it'd be rad if other people could actually stay in it with her. in the movie she builds that ice castle, but it really is still just ice, slippery and cold, so if she could learn how to turn it into some kind of stone, or crystal, that'd be rad as heck. it would probably exhaust her, and she would probably have to learn how to tap into her shard in addition to using her own magic ( and have Siku around for that extra boost! ) to make it happen, but something like that would be amazing.
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS:
none that I can think of! I sort of babbled on enough in the last section, heh.

BOON REQUEST: ...A chihuahua (or fairyworld equivalent). I'd also love for it to be able to transform into something larger and more wolf-like corresponding to Steve's moods. For example, if he got angry or he or someone he cared about was being threatened.
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: Or just a chihuahua. Mod's choice!

BOON REQUEST: It is two days after the imp arrives to receive Saber's request before she writes her request. "I have spent much thought on this and wish my greatest weapon with the face of this war upon us. But, my world's existence must be maintained as much as possible. Your Majesties, if calling Excalibur truly places my world in jeopardy, leave it and call the Invisible Air."
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: Saber wants Excalibur at its full strength, but it's too powerful for that as things stand now, I would prefer Invicible Air as it is her lesser Noble Phantasm.

Quest-y post where he is finally putting up some defensive wards (I went ~500 words over count so it might qualify as working towards defenses as well, since Lancelot only asked for the research)
BOON REQUEST: Kaldur would specifically ask for a way to mute the presence of his shard, so that others, including natives, could not sense it.
If asked, he would express two-fold reasoning. First, with the massive uprising of anti shard-bearer sentiment, being able to mediate without the overwhelming presence of a shard would be helpful. Secondly, as the war continues, someone who can move beyond enemy lines undetected by the presence of of a shard is a major tactical advantage, and Kaldur has done such covert operations before.

POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: If that can't be done, a huge boost to his general magical mojo reserves would be cool, or setting him up with a Drabwurld sorcerer to study under—especially since he's been largely self-teaching himself with advice from other shard-bearers. (Or a date with Gwyddien)

Also, I know with the war and all everything has gotten fast-tracked, but did Kaldur ever get a reply for the message he was able to send for last month's boon?

POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: Just noting that since he's asking for the Centurion of Fire's core back, it will also give him his Mystic Arte Extension Ain Soph Aur. As for alterations it doesn't have to physically give him back the core as long as it unlocks the power of it inside of him.

POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: ares sucks donkeyballs, so it would be super super cool if the blessing could be altered to better represent ridire! still the temporary invincibility part but with less of a bloodthirsty ragefest side effect. like, if she could radiate that same golden glow that would be so awesome. and, of course, it would probably also be a one-time thing that she'd have to use wisely!

BOON REQUEST: The capability to project some of his shard ability towards Margaery and/or Renly. Both of them, but not at the same time? Just a secondary layer of protection for them, in battle, even if it's at the detriment to his own defenses/capabilities.

BOON REQUEST: "I want defense as solid as the Wildcat basketball team. And maybe a little something for morale?"
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: Basically, an addition for her healing powers: while singing, she can create small barriers (possibly out of light or moonlight? idk) to block incoming projectiles. It'll be enough to maybe fit around one or two people like a big shield dome, but won't be there for long and take a LOT of her energy so there won't be any godmoding!

And, if possible, she'd also like all of her and Ryan's hats as the 'something for morale.' Like, all of them. it's a lot.

Link: Asked Queen Solais for the Seelie troops to avoid the Station as much as possible during the war as to provide a safe place for refugees to go.

BOON REQUEST: "I would like to more easily get around. It is quite a long ride to get anywhere. I have heard someone has a flying ship that is patrolling Unseelie territory... maybe something like that. I don't think a ship would suit me, though. They aren't comfortable. I think I would like to learn some magic so I could make a walking house or flying castle."
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: Grainne would be more than happy just to learn magic that would help her get around, but willing to be surprised! She'd go for a mount or teleportation of some degree, a little less if she actually grew wings though. HOWL'S MOVING CASTLE okay no but how awesome would that be?

BOON REQUEST: "While I was not able to attend the audience, I heard about what happened. My request is that you forgive Korra. While I know the age of adulthood in the Drabwurld is much lower than it is in my world, she is a young woman who is still adjusting to this world and its rules. So are the rest of us. If you can't forgive her yet, I would at least ask for you to have mercy on Mako. He took her punishment because he is a good friend, because his honor urged him to. Isn't all of that an example of Seelie ideals?"
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: If denied (and let's be honest, John is kind of expecting to be denied), maybe a way to talk to animals or something connected to the Black Shuck?

RELEVANT THREAD(S): Open training log! Spreading the knowledge how to fight among the Seelie! Shh...there aren't any Unseelie also being trained in this log. You see nothing... Slides another link in here. This just went up, but Diarmuid is going to be helping Kaldur test the wards he is making!

BOON REQUEST: The only thing he will tell the fairies is this: "I don't think you can give me what I want."
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: After learning about what the Seelie truly fight for, what happens to worlds that lose their last shardbearer, and with war so close on the horizon, Diarmuid is very conflicted right now. What he wants more than anything is peace of mind and he knows the monarchs can't give him that.

So, since my muse is being a huge dork, wild card me! I don't know if there is anything that maybe could be tied into teaching/training since it was his focus this month? If not, give me whatever strikes your fancies. I will wait as long as I need to!
