He has magic mirrors that let him go back and forth between places and he has one from Coth to Glaem and one from Coth to Troich. The one in Glaem is set up in his workshop that he was booned that's warded and is where he practices and does stuff without having to worry about blowing shit up. So being in Glaem isn't like... this huge thing since it's literally a step away from him being back in his room in Coth.
