FEBRUARY CALENDAR OF EVENTS
Hey, fairybros! As a heads up, the results of the Timeskip Vote results are in, and Eachdraidh will be engaging in a Timeskip of one year. Logging for the timeskip will be done concurrently with the events of Feb, March, and April, and as of May 01 the game will be post-timeskip. We request that each character in the game who is not going to utilise an opt-out mechanism for the entirety of the timeskip to post a timeskip page on their journal. We have constructed a sample timeskip page for you here. The code for it, with all time organisation in-tact, may be taken from the last comment on the page, or may be accessed below:
Players are free to design their own pages, of course, and it can be easily expanded to include additional years. These pages, in addition to organising what happens to your character, shall be used for logging out most of the events of the timeskip at your discretion. For March and April, threads logged on this page can be used to count for AC. We ask that most logs occur on these pages for smaller timeskip events so as not to clutter the log comms for those playing current events in February, March, and April. We will be releasing a game Timeskip Calendar shortly, which will be followed by a timeskip CR meme.
But what about THIS month? Most of you already know exactly what to expect, so, without further ado, your February event!

The Wrath of the Jabberwhelp GENRE: ACTION/ADVENTURE | DURATION: 07-14 FEBRUARY |

SUMMARY The battledrums are beating, the armies are marching, and it was only a matter of time before war covered the drabwurld again. The Seelie armies received orders to push north from the Cathraon, and encounter an entrenched Unseelie force. Details about the battleplan can be found here. Please sign up for a part on the conflict, should you want one, using the roster page. The roster will be finalised by the end of February 01. But as a result of these battles, on February 07 the Jabberwhelp will be released from under Caer Scima, where the High-King had been helping to craft it! In a pain-maddened fury, the Jabberwhelp will fly to the lands of Glaschu and begin to carve a path of great destruction through Seelie lands. After its release, the monarchs will make handwaved proclamations:
Seelie characters will be bade to either 01) keep the Unseelie embattled on the front lines and unable to enter Glaschu to rescue the Jabberwhelp, or to 02) hunt and slay the infant monster by any means possible before its Unseelie allies can rescue it!
Meanwhile, from the ruin of Caer Scima, Unseelie characters will be asked to save the Jabberwhelp at any cost by either 01) engaging the Seelie army and ensuring the Seelie cannot hunt it in force, or 02 riding out into enemy territory to herd it back! They will be informed that the Jabberwhelp will actively resist harming Unseelie chracters. Characters who have maintained friendly relationships with the imps will be told the secret to calming an enraged young Jabberwhelp:
+ Gifts of lavender! For some strange reason, this plant alone resists the Jabberwhelp's aura of rot, and functions rather like catnip.
+ Riddles and puzzles! A young Jabberwhelp is easily distracted and quite gullible.
+ Touch! Juvenile Jabberwhelps cannot control their aura of rot, which is as painful for them to endure as those around them. For those who can endure the discomfort of its aura of rot, petting the Jabberwhelp can calm it substantially, and even lull it to sleep.
The Jabberwhelp has an aura of rot, which will make plants and flesh within a 30m radius of its presence begin to rot. Characters who approach will see their own flesh begin to blacken and slough away. Fleeing from the Jabberwhelp will allow this condition to slowly heal. For most characters, lingering overlong within this aura of rot will be fatal. The Jabberwhelp will actively seek to kill Seelie characters, and flee from Unseelie characters who approach it unless they have learned one of the secrets to calm it.

He'll be assigning quests though, some which will help out spire barons, others which will lay the groundwork for things during the time skip.
That said, I don't want him to miss out entirely on what's happening, and to that end I'd love to get some stuff done. In particular:
φ Stuff related to the Jabberwhelp! If anyone can tell him about the Jabberwhelp's love of puzzles, or else lavender, he will definitely try and help set things up. Note that for once, Waver's going to be only talking to Unseelie about this, because he's aware that the lockets are being more heavily monitored these days
φ Field reports! Someone just tell him that Rin's not dead, okay? A man has worries
φ STATION EVACUATION! This can tie into the Jabberwhelp pretty easily! If someone gets Waver information about the Jabberwhelp's love of puzzles, Waver can get in touch with people willing to lead the evacuation and help them to set up enough distractions for the Jabberwhelp to buy them get away time!
Please be aware that Waver's starting to use the lockets less and less, and if he is he's limiting himself to Unseelie for the most part. (Thanks, Tarz! You scare the shit out of him.)
He'll be re-opening the Barrel at the end of the month, further south. But before he does that he will be investigating the original location's structural damage, and what he does with the building will be determined right before the start of timeskip.
Any other ideas, please, throw em at me!

The question is how, lol. He's met Rin at least, but I'm not sure of the outcome of the thread just yet-- it's hard to judge. Regardless, Thrall is eager to help. He can do some healing, and he can also tank, and I think he'd even be okay with approaching the Jabberwhelp if necessary.
It's just a matter of informing Thrall I guess. If Waver isn't using the lockets quite so much, then that'll be harder.
no subject
Logically, there's a few ways that we could do this! Waver has his questboard up for the month, and there's options that touch on neutral things. It's probably the fastest track for Waver to start assessing Thrall and get a read on him.
RE: the Jabberwhelp, Waver's gonna be getting the info out on the lockets (Unseelie only) in a way that's very much "use this to your own ends" which could also be a good point to use
no subject
I'm sure someone else is going to volunteer to pet the damned beast, but Thrall would be more than willing to help evacuate people. Is that something Waver would ask for help with?
Also, I think I will look into one of those quests. Thrall is brand new-- would he be able to sign up for a 1 star quest from Waver or would he need to be ~felt out~ first?

merida will also fill him in about the jabberwhelp stuff from the imps (because ahaha he ignores and pranks the imps) so help him find a way to make lavender snow. B)
no subject
i think that merida and grainne are working on station evac, so that should probably flop over to them?
that said oh my gosh yes lavender snow would actually be a super fun thing for them to try and figure out where do you get lavender in the drabwurld this time of year
no subject
BUT OH GOTCHA either way jack will check on his waver bro to make sure he's alright at some point through this
but yeaaaah it'd actually ... be a pretty cool idea. since snow can cover wide ground too, it'd be fun experimentation to want to try. LAVENDER HUNTS LET'S GO /o/

i really enjoyed their thread on the network, since it completely changed direction from what i was presuming it'd be, and i'd love to follow up with you on them if you're interested!

waver's got the jabberwhelp kinda figured out - merida's giving him the inital info, then he and jack are doing some R&D - but they should definitely get in contact at SOME point in the month. waver would love to just know what's happening, since he's far, far away

So I was thinking she'd probably call him to see if he knows where to get lavender. Or happens to have a pocket full of puzzles.

He'll be happy to set a little aside for her if she asks, and he can try and advise her on how to make up a few Jabberwock sized puzzles.
