FEBRUARY CALENDAR OF EVENTS

Hey, fairybros! As a heads up, the results of the Timeskip Vote results are in, and Eachdraidh will be engaging in a Timeskip of one year. Logging for the timeskip will be done concurrently with the events of Feb, March, and April, and as of May 01 the game will be post-timeskip. We request that each character in the game who is not going to utilise an opt-out mechanism for the entirety of the timeskip to post a timeskip page on their journal. We have constructed a sample timeskip page for you here. The code for it, with all time organisation in-tact, may be taken from the last comment on the page, or may be accessed below:

Players are free to design their own pages, of course, and it can be easily expanded to include additional years. These pages, in addition to organising what happens to your character, shall be used for logging out most of the events of the timeskip at your discretion. For March and April, threads logged on this page can be used to count for AC. We ask that most logs occur on these pages for smaller timeskip events so as not to clutter the log comms for those playing current events in February, March, and April. We will be releasing a game Timeskip Calendar shortly, which will be followed by a timeskip CR meme.

But what about THIS month? Most of you already know exactly what to expect, so, without further ado, your February event!

The Wrath of the Jabberwhelp
GENRE: ACTION/ADVENTURE | DURATION: 07-14 FEBRUARY

SUMMARY The battledrums are beating, the armies are marching, and it was only a matter of time before war covered the drabwurld again. The Seelie armies received orders to push north from the Cathraon, and encounter an entrenched Unseelie force. Details about the battleplan can be found here. Please sign up for a part on the conflict, should you want one, using the roster page. The roster will be finalised by the end of February 01. But as a result of these battles, on February 07 the Jabberwhelp will be released from under Caer Scima, where the High-King had been helping to craft it! In a pain-maddened fury, the Jabberwhelp will fly to the lands of Glaschu and begin to carve a path of great destruction through Seelie lands. After its release, the monarchs will make handwaved proclamations:

Seelie characters will be bade to either 01) keep the Unseelie embattled on the front lines and unable to enter Glaschu to rescue the Jabberwhelp, or to 02) hunt and slay the infant monster by any means possible before its Unseelie allies can rescue it!

Meanwhile, from the ruin of Caer Scima, Unseelie characters will be asked to save the Jabberwhelp at any cost by either 01) engaging the Seelie army and ensuring the Seelie cannot hunt it in force, or 02 riding out into enemy territory to herd it back! They will be informed that the Jabberwhelp will actively resist harming Unseelie chracters. Characters who have maintained friendly relationships with the imps will be told the secret to calming an enraged young Jabberwhelp:

+ Gifts of lavender! For some strange reason, this plant alone resists the Jabberwhelp's aura of rot, and functions rather like catnip.
+ Riddles and puzzles! A young Jabberwhelp is easily distracted and quite gullible.
+ Touch! Juvenile Jabberwhelps cannot control their aura of rot, which is as painful for them to endure as those around them. For those who can endure the discomfort of its aura of rot, petting the Jabberwhelp can calm it substantially, and even lull it to sleep.

The Jabberwhelp has an aura of rot, which will make plants and flesh within a 30m radius of its presence begin to rot. Characters who approach will see their own flesh begin to blacken and slough away. Fleeing from the Jabberwhelp will allow this condition to slowly heal. For most characters, lingering overlong within this aura of rot will be fatal. The Jabberwhelp will actively seek to kill Seelie characters, and flee from Unseelie characters who approach it unless they have learned one of the secrets to calm it.

Pod (and Kiga): defending Caer Glaem

[personal profile] wolvering 2015-01-31 07:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay! Pod is going to be at Caer Glaem when the Jabberwock attacks! She'll mostly be running around giving what first aid she can to the combatants.

She can:
--wash and bandage wounds!
--will have willow-bark and/or meadwsweet tea on hand for pain!
--set and splint broken bones
--for any injured animals/non-humanoids she can heal you completely if you're hurt! (she can also soothe any upset animals, and put a Sleep spell on them if need be)

She will also be carrying around a crossbow, and a couple nice knives, and has learned how to use them to defend herself! If any Unseelie would like to go after her, cool. But! Kiga will try to rip said character's throat out or hamstring them, just saying.
--Related: I think it'd be cool if she could charm an "enemy's" animal companion away from them for a while (this could be either temporary/permanent) because animals love her and want to dote on her by default. Anyone want to plot with this?

She is going to try to go after the Jabberwock at some point, hoping that her magic will have an effect on it. But she's not powerful enough. Please help stop her from getting herself killed, thanks. I don't want her to die and lose her shard just yet.

Pod, no. :|

Pod, you should come with Castle wherever he goes aka away from this battle shit.

late, but! Pod will need to be talked into it because... she's stubborn as all get out, but! She really does need to see the bigger picture sometime, and Castle might well be the one to do it. She could use a parental-type influence in her life; she's never had one!

As of now, Castle's plans are to visit the neutral area of the falls and to also pay a visit to Treun. If she wants to join him in either of those places, she's definitely welcome.

[personal profile] wolvering 2015-02-05 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
She would definitely be up for a trip to the falls! She just has to be talked into it (there's a beast that's hurting people and she can calm and put beasts to sleep and-- well! she's not exactly good at thinking of her own safety) because she wants to help people.

I think Nabooru might be the one to get her out of the line of fire, so to speak, so if Castle is around during the attack at all, she'd be would be much more willing to go after that.

He'll probably be out of Dodge before the attack happens, but we can presume that they keep in touch on the locket so she can know Castle's whereabouts.

If they have a talk before the battle, she would definitely contact him during when she's aware that she's doing almost no good where she is, especially if she knows he's got a fast way to travel!

Ok. If you put anything up for her, I'll tag it. If not, we can kind of handwaive that he mentioned that she can give him a call if she's in trouble.

That works! I'm not sure what pre-battle stuff might go up now until then, but I'll definitely ping you if something goes up where they can talk! :Db

Would you be up for Nabooru coming to her rescue? I think she might try to run interference and defense mainly, so there would be an opening for her to come across Pod in peril!

She'll grab Kiga too.
wolvering: (Like sunshine and milkweed.)

[personal profile] wolvering 2015-02-05 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
Late! A rescue would be great, maybe from the Jabberwhelp when Pod tries to get close enough to use her magic (and fails)?
chivalrist: (pic#8789074)

[personal profile] chivalrist 2015-02-05 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
That would be excellent! Nabooru will be heading from Glaem to Cothromach but I am cool with her finding Pod anywhere around there or dropping her off anywhere that suits you! As animal companions go she'll only have her horse, but Pod could probably be a lot of help in keeping it from shying or freaking out too badly!
wolvering: (Like sunshine and milkweed.)

[personal profile] wolvering 2015-02-05 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
As long as the horse doesn't mind wolverines Pod should have no problem! Well, she'll have no problem with calming it anyway, but she tends to have trouble riding, because Kiga can't keep up with a horse over distance and so has to ride... and a lot of horses really don't like that haha.

Anyway! A rescue and then getting her a little bit out of harm's way is good! Pod can then call for help, and get carried the rest of the way safely!

I can see it now, galloping off with a squirming wolverine between them....

But that seems like a good plan! We can play it by ear for when you want Pod released from her custody, with strict warnings not to get into trouble again.
wolvering: (Like sunshine and milkweed.)

[personal profile] wolvering 2015-02-05 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
Kiga, at least, will have the good manners to hold still...but where he's holding on might get a claw mark or three.

And excellent! I look forward to it!
