BOON REQUESTS

Hey fairybroskis! You know what time it is? Boon time!

Requests are up, which means the fairies and imps are out and about bothering people from their respective factions to note down the number one item on their wishlist again!





Wherever Shardbearer characters are in the Drabwurld, at some point today they will be approached by fairies or imps, depending on their alignment, bearing a piece of parchment and a quill. They will urge your character to write down a request for an item, power or favour from their monarchs in exchange for fighting or supporting their faction and they will take it away through a fairy-ring when it is written. There are three easy rules your character will be informed MUST NOT be broken:

1) "Do not call for time and space to be bent to your will!"

2) "You may not request another's true love or devotion!"

3) "Ask not for a road home or the loved ones whence you came!"

Essentially, the OOC boundaries relayed through IC means to your character are to avoid game-breaking demands being made. They will be approved, altered or denied here until 25th FEBRUARY (00:01am LONDON GMT; we've extended it a day!) so that when your character receives their boon on the morning of 25th (you can pick any time for them to be delivered/show up) no matter where they are there is no fuss, no muss!

This month, your character gets a boon if they battled between Feb 07-14, or assisted in saving/slaying the jabberwhelp! Feel free to link to any threads (completed or ongoing) that will show your character getting involved in the event this month: only actual participation (not referenced participation) will warrant a boon. For those using quest logs to count as both quest material and as boons, you could have gone a good measure over minimum wordcount to receive your boon: ideally having another 200 words or so.

BOON REQUEST: Shijima wants something that will allow her to speak in the human tongue no matter what her form - basically another boon I'm asking for to make my life easier HAHA... - so she can hang out as a cat when she wants and still talk to humans. Either some sort of spell or a charm bracelet that'd shift with her through forms or something so that she can make herself understood when she wants to and can go about meowing/tweeting/whatever if she doesn't care to make herself understood.

BOON REQUEST: I'd love if Clarke could spend the next year learning how to use magic. I'm pretty open to suggestion as far as what she can learn, though I'm not looking for something that would be a temporary use like a ring or bracelet that gives her an ability. More like granting her the skill to wield magic -- like a witch or priestess? -- and then Clarke having to learn it. I think this would tie in well with the upcoming timeskip since I'd like for her to have to actually spend the year (and longer!) learning and studying it the way she had to do with medicine, rather than just have her be granted power right out of the gate.

POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: I'm pretty open to any alteration of the above as you guys see fit, but I would like to stick in the vein of Clarke obtaining magic!

BOON REQUEST: "Think you could offload the ten thousand medical procedures from Baymax's chip into me? Maybe that's not possible but even half of that would be really sweet."
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: The bottom line is that Hiro would like healing magic! He's capable of learning everything else but so far has encountered that there are a severe lack of healers in his tiny group of CR and he'd like to fix that. Obviously not expecting him to suddenly know a million things, but since he has a somewhat decent grasp on medicine himself maybe some kind of magic beyond just the basics? Alter as fit based on his participation. Thank you!

BOON REQUEST: Jack's going on a journey to seek out more spirits, so he'd like a sort of spirit companion to help him out. Not necessarily for a pet, but more like an "assistant", something/someone capable of traveling around on its own and helping him locate spirits and the sort.
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: Another possiblility might be an item or ability of sorts that simply might help him communicate with the spirits and animals since they all don't exactly speak Drabbish. He's gonna aim to really jump into diplomacy status and anything that might help with that would be wonderful. If not, a wild card would be fine!

BOON REQUEST: "...What are you- Very well. If you ask us to request anything within the realm of possibility barring our return to our homes, I would like my templar abilities to remain just as effective without the use of lyrium."
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: These are links to the Templar skill trees in Dragon Age: Inquisition and Dragon Age 2. Ideally, I'd like Cullen to have access to one of these skill trees (minus potential upgrades because I don't want to be overpowered). As of right now, when he is not taking lyrium, he's been able to use Cleanse and Holy Smite at (roughly) 1/2 of their base power.

Or if the monarchs are really not feeling his contributions they can just send him a steady supply of lyrium but that would actually be really sad.

POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: I'm not sure he has enough substantial effort in his threads to qualify for something that big or if it's even possible, but even if he can't form telepathic links with his close CR I'd like to at least allow him to have it with Kelsi? And if that's still not possible I will take a wildcard option this round. Thank you!

POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: If not, then taking baby steps and considering asking for some sort of offensive magic. OR, he’ll ask for his Echo Shard, which has a massive store of prothean memories in it. They never explain how it works exactly, but I’m counting it as technology that only operates at the Station. Or just fuck me up with a wildcard.

BOON REQUEST:
Lancelot's request comes in a slightly neater, more even hand than last time! However, if a monarch were to squint a little they would notice the remnants of pencil guidelines. He wanted it to look tidy.

Formally addressed, Lancelot expresses regret that Caer Glaem was damanged by the Jabberwhelp and that he was slow to stop it. That he did not have more forethought to place a member of those who bargained for its death on the team heading to Caer Scima, that they might have stopped it before it even left. He understands that this will not be the end of it, only hopes that what victory they did take is enough for now.

He asks only what he always asks; to be given the strength to stay a servant of this court and protect all he loves and has been trusted with here! The Unseelie have strong champions, and he fears it is only by luck he continues to survive.

POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS:

MY ROLLOVER FROM LAST TIME. Basically a Seelie version of fate!Lancelot's noble phantasm Knight of Honor! It allows him to pick up any weapon and be proficient with it, and imbues the weapons to be ~legendary~ of sorts. It's worth noting this also works on things that aren't originally weapons, they become weapons in his hands -- scrap iron can become a sword or a spear. The effect quits a few seconds after he drops them, so it isn't like he'd be generating endless new weapons for everyone. It only works for him!

This would i) level the ground against more powered characters in a fight for him, good MORE FITIN'!
ii) mean any weapon would be good in his hands, reducing rate of weapon-request boons
iii) make my efforts to slowly parallel his spiral against Berserker!Lancelot yet more effective
iv) freak out the fate characters a bit
v) be kinda cool, and give him confidence!

You could Seelie-mode it by adjusting it to give light-element instead of demonic, obviously, which is what Berserker's gives. In fact it'd be more fun to me if it was more Seelie-ish, making him weirdly seem to be turning into a Servant of the Seelie court! You could also limit his auto-proficiency with weapons to only pre-modern ones as well, I don't mind him not magically learning guns when he picks one up (although that could be funny) and it isn't as if it'd be useful for him to be able to control fighter jets and nukes anyway. The only thing borderline is probably if a golem or other magically created thing etc enchanted to fight would count as a weapon and could be turned by him. Beserker Lancelot does it with weird... jet planes... and stuff... ????? So the model for it suggests it might, but that might be too much. IT'S A WEIRD POWER. I leave that up to you!

BOON REQUEST: Jason is seeking a way to "die less easily." He has already died once back home, and while he knows his shard is valuable either way, he'd rather avoid being killed because he's a baseline human. What he's seeking is some tool of regeneration and increased healing so that he can bounce back, either as just a power or some kind of tool. He'd prefer that it's something that passively kicks in, though! Having the means to recuperate from his wounds at an increased rate would be ideal. Essentially, he's asking for the "regen" effect from many JRPGs!
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: If this isn't possible, the next two boons he'd want are to hide his shard (which I intended to have him ask for next month) or teleportation within Unseelie lands.

RELEVANT THREAD(S): Not wholly prepared for war (and willing to publicly defend those who were in the same situation), Rin went out with the rest of the troops deployed from Mair and acted as a battle mage with wards for Lord Ganondorf. Eventually the battle wore her down like it did many and defensive magic was turned against others. Prior to that, she did offer some helpful "advice" about taking care of the Jabberwhelp. A SHAME NO ONE REALLY LISTENED. Jerks.
