+1: a new player, a magical veterinarian, and a wolverine

Hello all. New player here! I go by Bear, and it's been a long time since I actively RP'd, so I'm very excited to get back into a game.

The character I'm bringing in is Pod, from a kind of obscure series by author Joanne Bertin that's usually called the Dragonlord series. The titular characters are weredragons, and really do turn into giant fire-breathing scaly beasts. (It's a good series, and I recommend reading it.)

Pod is not a weredragon, as awesome as they are. She's a Beast Healer (apprentice, but shh) which is exactly what it sounds like, and with all the animal companions in this game, I'm sure she'll get a lot of practice with her craft. She's in Seelie, but where there are hurt or ill beasts, so she shall go! She's capable of both magical and mundane healing techniques and will even order a dragon around if he or she is hurt. She's also spunky and good-natured and very brave. And more than a little mischievous.

Coming in with Pod is her brother-in-fur (also called a familiar), Kiga. They share a magical bond, essentially making him her spirit animal, and Kiga is very protective of his person. He's also a 50 lb plus, fully wild wolverine. Generally, he's well behaved! But he's also paranoid and likely to be grumpy, because he and Pod are coming into the game after an unfortunate separation that ended with Pod getting chased around a cursed forest by a possessed murderer for several days and nearly killed. As a note, for a little while, Pod will call him a "woods dog" (or ghulon, or wolvering) in speech, at least until she learns that 'wolverine' is the local word. And she'll probably always call him a woods dog in her internal monologue.

The last is especially important because Pod and Kiga have some powers that could potentially step on toes (probably the most likely is Kiga's ability to sense dark magic), and I'd love to know which characters her healing magics would actually work on.

hey guys! it's laura. i play the scrappy lil' arya stark but today, i'm balancing my roster with the kind and patient mithian from merlin bbc. she's coming from the end of her first episode in the series (4.11). I'M THE WORST AT INTROS SO.... here she is. she's charming and sweet, a proper princess who knows how to shoot a crossbow well and burps in the presence of kings.

Hi guys! It's Ally again back with her second intro because I didn't just app the Doctor this app round. I also apped a Roman demigod. For those of you who aren't canon familiar, this is Reyna Avila Ramírez-Arellano ( or just Reyna as she prefers ) from the Heroes of Olympus/Percy Jackson and the Olympians series of books. Long story made very short, she's a 16 year old demigod whose mom is Bellona and she's also one of the praetors of the Roman camp for demigods. She comes from the end of Blood of Olympus, but I promise not to spoil a single thing if you haven't read it. Or even if you have read it because Reyna isn't the type to spill secrets very easily. She's also in the Seelie court, in case you were wondering.

Anyway, I'm super excited to have her here too and should be able to intro her later today, but my apologies for any slowness since I do have a test tomorrow morning and one in the afternoon and my finals are next week. Beyond that, my plurk is over at allytheomalleycat and you can add me for plotting and what have you or you could just PM me for plotting. I'm good either way. I think that's it, so I'm super excited and I adore you all and I hope we can have a bunch of fun together!

Hi! I'm Waffle, and I'm new here!

I bring you one James Buchanan Barnes, a.k.a. Bucky, a.k.a. The Winter Soldier. I'm taking him from directly after the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, so he's free from Hydra but still very messed up in the head and trying to figure out who the hell he is and what the hell he's supposed to do now.

He'll be in the Unseelie court, with a metal arm that's not functioning because haha technology hahahahahaha he's not going to be happy.

Winter Party Planning Post

Hi everyone, Meg/Waver-mun here. As the Calendar of Events indicated, there’s going to be a holiday party over at the Barrel on 19 December.

The long and short of it is that the party will be open to both courts, and amount to an excuse for everyone to hang out around a giant bonfire, have snowball fights, enjoy some excellent food, and hang out.

However, to make sure everyone has a good time, I wanted to ensure that there was a space for everyone to ask questions, make suggestions either in term of decorations, spaces to be made available for activities etc., and plot.

The announcement of the party over the network will be handwaved, and the log itself will go up on Wednesday, December 17th.

A note: Unlike Samhain, where transportation wasn’t a problem, everyone will have to get to the Barrel out in Nihm Gleanne under their own steam. There is a thread here for those who would like to offer taxi services.

howdy eachlings, it's miyou (player of your resident daughter of ares, clarisse la rue) bringing you sokka from that show not to be confused with the movie about weird blue aliens, avatar: the last airbender! sokka's the normal dude, and with his trusty boomerang and impeccable sense of humor, he's probably the coolest normal dude you'll ever know. (heh. coolest. southern water tribe. cold. it's funny ok. this is the level of his jokes. and yes, they are all that bad.)

he's coming from the end of the series, somewhere right before the gaang leaves the jasmine dragon to go do fun graphic novel-related things, and he'll be in the unseelie court with his bro zuko! and also really unhappy that he doesn't have his nice warm winter coat. :( hopefully i'll be able to toss him at the feast sometime tonight! you'd better get your share of meat fast or he will legit eat it all, i'm js.

Hello, hello! New player by the name of Nao here. So excited to be joining you all.

Anyway, this is Dawn Summers from Buffy the Vampire Slayer for those who don't know. She's a sweet girl really, just with a couple of issues on her shoulder as you would expect from a show with "vampire" in its name. Yeah, I'll save you the story and just link you to her work-in-progress info page. That said, she'll be joining the unseelie alignment of things.

Heyo, everyone! Eq here, and besides being a newcomer, I'm going to bring you guy Shirou Emiya from Fate/Stay Night! He's basically a really nice individual who wants to be a hero/ally of justice. Naturally, this means that he's definitely willing to help anyone with anything. 'Course, he wouldn't be a normal protag if he's that helpful, so let's just say that he's basically a distorted trainwreck in order to mitigate that.

Hi there! This is Teresa, I have been playing Faolan here for the last while, and now that I've started to get the hang of it, I've decided to app Remus Lupin from the Harry Potter series. For those of you who are canon familiar, Remus is coming to the Drabwurld during the summer after his brief stint as Defense Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts during Harry's third year. For those of you who don't know Remus, I'll try to make this brief. Remus Lupin is a clever, witty, fairly charming if tragically self-deprecating wizard. He was bitten by a werewolf at a very early age and has spent most of his life fighting with the curse, both in society and also with himself. He and Harry's parents were best friends until bad things happened and basically everyone but him died/were believed to have died/went to jail for killing the other friends. He has lived a rather lonely life since then, with no steady employment to speak of, save for his year teaching at Hogwarts, which backfires when his condition is revealed to the school and he is forced to resign. WHICH IS WHERE HE'S COMING FROM NOW.

 

He's in the Seelie court, and he's basically coming into the Drabwurld like troy-walks-into-room-on-fire-with-pizza.gif :') OH ALSO. He is pb'd by the lovely Iddo Goldberg as seen above, who is perfect for Remus. Info and Permissions can be found on his journal AND THAT SHOULD BE IT
