AUGUST CALENDAR
Hey, fairybros! Welcome, new hands, angriest, old!
STATE OF THE GAME
As another reminder, please look at this post on the state of the game. The future of the Drabwurld depends on what characters do in the next few months! Whether that future will come sooner or later relies on character action, but be mindful that the end of this metaplot is near!
AC NOTE
New characters will be exempt from AC. They only are required to check in.
QUESTS
August quests are now open! Boards are posted here. From this month forward, there will be one quest per CHARACTER, not PLAYER. This shift in rules hopes to answer the number of quests offered vs those taken, based on player feedback.
MONTHLY EVENT
After two months of relative peace and with rumours of old things awakening, the monarchs are taking no chances. Both sides are preparing for a clash to come, and call on their Shardbearers for assistance. Neither Morla nor Solais knows with certainty what the future holds...
The Turning Tide GENRE: MYSTERY/STRATEGY/MAGIC | DURATION: 05-19 AUGUST |

SUMMARY All with the power of vision will wake up in pain on the evening of the second, experiencing this image:
They were choking on smoke. It stung the eyes and burned the throat; walking through fire which roared high as forests, a hellish, scorched landscape. Something in the distance roared, and they knew to fear it. But the sound hadn't been an animal one. Nor a thing a human throat could make. It sounded like steel and iron rent to breaking. Like great gears grinding.
They burst from the maze of fire to a clear space, as clear as can be found on a raging battlefield. Soldiers screamed, died, scattered all around them. And stretched before them was a great vision of ruin.
Giant hulking monsters made of metal rampaged. Great cog-and-gear machines with dragonlike maws that spanned stories tall trod upon the village, worked in tandem to roar and slam their bodies against a falling spire to knock it to ruin, tore at the Citadel rock by rock. Their eyes gleamed with the light of Shards, winked like coals in the night. They spread the fire and the fear and could not be stopped.
Underneath their violence, none could hear their own screams.
The Unseelie monarchs, with their spires fully built and almost fully manned, are preparing to strike back in a vicious bid for survival. The call will go out to all Unseelie shardbearers to return to Caer Scima to aid in the war effort by:
+ training with fellow shardbearers for battle
+ drilling with native soldiers
+ helping to raise and give magical wards to the spires
+ acting as scouts along the southern border
Meanwhile, back in Caer Glaem, the Seelie monarch will issue their forces to begin marching to the Cathraon to begin massive military maneuvers. They also set out a call to their own shardbearers, bidding them to gather along the massive battleplain where lavish tents have been set aside for their use for the purpose of using the month to:
+ train with fellow shardbearers for battle
+ drill with native soldiers
+ help to arm and provide supplies for the army
+ act as scouts and spies in Unseelie territory and on Unseelie movements
