SEPTEMBER CALENDAR

Hello there, fairybros! As we move into September, we are moving ever-closer towards the end of the Void metaplot! We'd like to clear up a few things about how we intend to have this plot end.

VOID METAPLOT OUTCOME: CHARACTER CHOICE
How the end will come will depend a great deal on player action and inaction. However, when we move to the point of deciding the fates of worlds, all characters will have a voice! Desires are likely to conflict. The ultimate outcome will likely not please every character, but the possibility to choose will be open to everyone. We will clearly inform all players what is happening and what they and their characters must do to help decide the fates of the worlds.

VOID METAPLOT OUTCOME: CONSEQUENCES
The mod team has planned for various outcomes, and we want to be clear that no characters will be punished for failing! We also want to clarify that regardless of outcome, the mods have planned to ensure that the hard work players have done won't be wiped away. No matter what, characters will have the opportunity to keep things they worked to build up after the conclusion of this metaplot. To be absolutely clear, no memories will be lost, and work put into the world can be retained. There will be a plotting post for this purpose. We hope that at its conclusion, whether or not characters got what they wanted, players can enjoy the consequences!

APPLICATIONS
September is normally an application month. However, as we are now estimating an end of the current metaplot for October, we don't feel it is fair to open applications just for characters to be here one month before the state of the game changes. We expect to open applications again at the end of November!

THE STATE OF THE DRABWURLD
Now that the oceans have vanished but for slim straits, no rain falls in the Drabwurld. There is no wind except the Void's or those magically generated. Grass is dying. Trees lose leaves and rot at an unnatural pace. Broadly, there are reports of no new lives being born, in wildlife, livestock, or the drabwurld's many races. Many animals are becoming increasingly aggressive in the search for food.

The Battle of Unquenchable Fires
GENRE: ACTION/ADVENTURE | DURATION: 25-?? SEPTEMBER

SUMMARY The oceans are vanishing, animals are turning wild, drought, famine, and disease are spreading rapidly through the Drabwurld. The Seelie armies are ordered to push north from the Cathraon in the aim of breaking through Unseelie defences and claiming the shards of their court. The desperate Unseelie gather together for their own plans of attack. Both armies are confronted with a great danger from the Westlands.

The Dwarvencraft Army
The legion of cog-and-gear machines are all fire-gouting things, modeled vaguely after various quadrupedal animals. They are massive, most over 50 feet at the back, and some even larger; several hundred pour forth from the dwarven kingdom later in the month. They batter through the giant trade gate at Redgate and spred forth, singlemindedly hunting shardbearers to consume and save their shards. Neither native, nor shard magic, will exhibit any effect on them; much less destroy them. This will change in October! Characters may put out fires in areas after they left or around where they attacked to minimize damage, but the machines will pursue all shard bearers to hunt their shards. As of now, the only way to survive an encounter with one of these machines is to run away.

All characters will be called to aid the war. The monarchs will be clear: these are the final battles. The Unseelie are desperate, and if they fall here, they won't have enough to survive. This is the last attempt. This is it. By sword or surgery, in strategy or support, everyone is called to steer the course of fate.

MONTHLY OVERVIEW
01ST SEPTEMBER • Further earthquakes radiate out from Mair, blocking off the Astar. Ancient temples from beneath the city are revealed as newer buildings and roads are damaged. Word spreads that all of the casinos are mysteriously undamaged. These earthquakes will continue throughout the month, with Mair natives taking shelter in the casinos and revealed temples.
10th SEPTEMBER • The Void is just 300 meters from the coast of Leathann. Hurricane winds pull at the city.
11th SEPTEMBER • Reports of unicorns in the wild acting together in vicious mobs spread throughout the Drabwurld. They can be found viciously attacking and eating any kind of meat, whether animal or sentient.
14th SEPTEMBER • Along much of the coast, sea life begins to beach itself in desperation. Everything from fish and lobsters to krakens and sea serpents have come to the shore to die.
17th SEPTEMBER • Rats, mice, and other vermin head towards populated areas seeking food. They spread disease where they go and eat unprotected supply stocks.
20th SEPTEMBER • Fiery mechanical monsters with shards for eyes appear out from Troichean Beinn in the West and begin heading for the Cathraon, literally tearing through everything in their path. They burn all in their path. Villages, farmlands, and more are destroyed. Early scouts who survive report that they can't be affected by any kind of magic. Wherever they find Shardbearers, they hunt and kill them to claim their shards. The dry lands spread their fires dangerously quick. Wildfires take many lives. Where they go, smoke fills the air. Breathing becomes difficult. Under the roar of machines, the sound of a canine whimpering can be heard.
21st SEPTEMBER • Plans to battle for the troops already in formation at Cathraon must adapt to meet the threat heading from the West! Early troops may be sent to try to stop or slow the mechanical monsters.
25th SEPTEMBER FRONT LINE BATTLE. A mod post will go up for this event. The battle will continue into October. Characters may step back from the front lines, but there will always be others engaged in combat.
The next Calendar of Events post will go up toward the end of September to cover all of October.
