I love looking at how different canons use the original stories and come out with something completely different.
...In Will's world 'Pendragon' is actually a hereditary magical title. Arthur and Bran (his son) can't use magic themselves, but they can command magic. Order magical creatures to not attack and so on. Also, Merlin is a time traveler. And in the twentieth century he's a professor of Pre-Roman Archaeology. And occasionally a butler.
