HOW'S MY DRIVING?

Welcome to ED's game-wide HMD! It will go up around the last Wednesday of every app-round month (that is, the month immediately after apps have been processed, so the next HMD will be in August).

How It Works:

The game-wide HMD is an opportunity for players to come together and bring each other feedback about one another's playing. Constructive criticism is what players expect to be given, supported by suggestions for how to better their game-play with evidence backing up any queries or concerns. Always try to post one positive observation at the end of your critique as it gives people something nice to look forward to and helps reassure your fellow EDwardians that hey, we're only playing imaginary people on the internet; this is all for fun!

The game-wide HMD is not mandatory, but we do encourage participation. If you'd prefer to receive crit solely on your personal HMD, away from anonymous assistance, please specify so (and if people do, commentators please respect their wishes!).

If you have any problems, let us know by PMing the Mod account.

Anonymous commenting is enabled while the HMD runs to allow anonymous crit and IP logging is on for the sake of continued accountability. Only moderators will see IP addresses and they will only be checked if people play silly buggers situations get out of hand, at a push resulting in anon-crit being turned off. Please remember to be thoughtful and respectful in your crit-giving.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: He's been tortured by Celegorm in May, physically and emotionally (Celegorm is very good at this thing), and had to make his way alone from Caer Scima to the Station while severely injured. So it had a large effect on how he has been the past two months or so. With help from Thranduil, John Grimm, some friends he's kept in touch and Amaterasu he's started recovering though and while what has happened will stay with him, he will return more to himself in some weeks. Beyond that, I'm slow. I'm backlogged. I try to cut down on the amount of threads I start though, so I don't flake anymore, since I know I dropped the ball heavy and hard in the first two months. Apologies for that.

THRANDUIL
Legolas was recently severely tortured, so Thranduil is setting up shop at the Station for a little while. He recently got a bunch of new npcs to order around, so there will be some generic Mirkwood Elves loitering at and around the Station along with some native Elves of the Drabwurld, all of them answering to Thran. Eventually he's going to take his son and sod off to the Southern-Greenwood to start his own house party realm.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: sharpe is still settling in -- so that's a work in progress. i feel most of my current hesitation around sansa. she's very rewarding to play, but sometimes i'm concerned her endless loops of politeness and deeply internalized fear make her kinda boring for other players in threads. so i guess i want to say two things! 1) if you are finding threads with sansa a little dull, please be patient! eventually she'll warm up/make a mistake/say something telling. and 2) i'm going to be working extra hard on sneaking in some more hooks to maybe avoid this problem altogether. the last thing i want to be is a boring rp partner, but this is the first time i've played such a wholly insular and secretive character. i'm still finding my feet! thanks.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: my pace has left a lot to be desired — i'm personally frustrated by it. when life hands you lemons … it's something i plan on working on, but if you have any tips on how to ramp up that motivation i've been lacking, i'm all ears! otherwise, i'm really more concerned voice-wise. i haven't played alisha for a good while, and never from this canon point, so i'm still trying to figure out her headspace a little (and get her involved since she's not the type to involve herself!). this is my first time playing luke, so, any suggestions or comments you have on him would be welcome!

i'm considerably canon blind to sansa's plight, since i'm a slow book reader and Know Things because i read the wiki, but i just wanted to let you know that i didn't find threading with sansa to be boring, and i think it's a pretty good development to strive for, since i'm certain it has to be difficult for her head wise to really become comfortable in a strange kingdom once again. but i just wanted to let you know that it hasn't been boring and i personally look forward to seeing sansa grow and how you handle that!

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Peter is at the nebulous point between film one & two, so he's more confident than he was for most of film one, but not as put-together as he is in the second film. Dany is from after freeing Astapor and deciding to conquer Slaver's Bay, so she still wants Westeros, but she's also beginning to realize that it might not hold what she truly wants (home!! family!! love!!). I'm particularly worried about Dany's characterization, so any thoughts on that would be appreciated! Her vengeance vs. mercy struggle is, well, a struggle to play out.
