DECEMBER CALENDAR OF EVENTS
Hey, fairybros! November has been an unexpectedly big month, and with hope, December will give us plenty of time to recuperate! Firstly, we'd like to apologize to the player base again about the application cap, and assure you that we're proceeding at speed to try and rectify the issues which have given rise to it!
On that note, please expect a Lesser NPC Application to be released later in the month with a formal announcement! Without going into too much detail, this will be an application by which players can access a newly-made NPCing account, so that they can play for their fellow players: villagers, enemy soldiers in battles, monsters in quests, and etc. The notification announcement will go into greater detail, but the application will be thorough, and use of the account will likely necessitate a small amount of record-keeping on the behalf of users, as well as recorded reviews by those who interact with it.
We got so slammed that the Quest Requests system was not opened for a second time last month: instead, expect it to be open again before the 5th is out! We will also be using this time to touch base with questing individuals from the last round, and to update relevant lists and rosters.
As a final heads up, pending some plot events, there may be some updates on the Calendar within the next 1 to 3 days, and the mod team will likely still be varying degrees of slow until after the New Year! Wishing you all the best and without more ado...

The White Hart Hunt GENRE: MAGICAL/ADVENTURE | DURATION: 01-14 December |

SUMMARY Time to hunt! An easy event for December. With the first sighting reported with the snow which came on the night before the first, handwaved proclamations are released to both courts bidding shardbearers to hunt the White Hart, the King of Beasts! Those who research the White Hart are likely to find that he is the brother of the Black Shuck, and allows himself to be caught and killed once a year in these winter months, only to return to the world the following year in an endless cycle of renewal. The White Hart is cunning and easily able to flee most pursuers, though if the hunter is a poor one he may teach them a lesson about pursuing dangerous quarry, creeping close when they're unaware to transform them into a woodland creature for 7 days. The mod team will allow one Seelie and one Unseelie shardbearer to slay the White Hart: nominate yourself, stating your character, court, and why you think your character deserves the win! The mod team will allow nominations for 24 hours before releasing a poll to the community at large.
This will be another event lacking a mod post, leaving players free to plan at their discretion.
Since this is not a mass event, players are encouraged to plan and plot among themselves, and set up their own logs as appropriate!

MONTHLY OVERVIEW
The next Calendar of Events post will go up to cover all of January. Weather for this month will be bursts of snows, growing deeper and longer toward the end of the month. Nights and early mornings will be the coldest yet in the year. Please feel free to use this as a plotting post. Finally, if you have any queries about the event, please direct them to the Questions thread and we'll get back to you ASAP, and feel free to use this post to plot together. Thank you!01st DECEMBER (01am IC) • EVENT START. The White Hart has been sighted, and shardbearers bid to hunt him!
03rd DECEMBER • DANGEROUS RUMOURS. Word penetrates the courts that Reynard the Fox has become the figurehead of a stirring anti-shardbearer movement among the natives! A few shardbearers out in the more populous cities may hear cries of 'Go home!' alongside the usual fearful and respectful obeisances. Images of a winking fox face on signs, buildings, and wild rock edifices will multiply throughout the month.
05th DECEMBER • QUEST REQUESTS OPEN!
10th DECEMBER (00:01am LONDON GMT) • The boon request post goes up on the OOC community. You will be asked to state your character's request and link to proof of having participated in the event. Mods will be around to approve or deny these.
12th DECEMBER • A NEW KING OF BIRDS. The Roc has defeated its challengers and become the new King of Birds! Those who speak the tongues of birds will swiftly be informed this, and be warned that winter will be full of storms grown by this wrathful king.
14th DECEMBER • EVENT CLOSES.
15th DECEMBER • Approved or altered, boons are ICLY received today when characters wake up.
16th DECEMBER (00:01am LONDON GMT) • Boon requests close!
19th DECEMBER • Winter Party at the Barrel: The Barrel will be hosting a winter holiday party beginning at sunset, in recognition of Yule. A bonfire will be had, in addition to food and chances for those in both courts to come together.
21st DECEMBER • YULE BEGINS. One of the eight festivals of the drabwurld, this one is celebrated by the burning of a giant log in the courtyard of each castle, an abundance of wassail, mead, and mulled wine, carols being sung by night. The theme is one of reflection on the past year, and in the castles, the longstanding tradition is for groups of friends and family to make and sing a carol featuring the highs and lows one has experienced.
01st JANUARY (00:01am LONDON GMT) NEW CALENDAR OF EVENTS.
EVENT HERO NOMINATIONS

Because he has had the absolute worst couple of traumatic months and Reynard has kidnapped his dog and threatened to kill it. He's so sad.
Also, he has a bow that glows. So there.
I actually have no idea if there's a particular format you want for this
I VOLUNTEERPo (Greening Grandemalion) of the Unseelie court!
He's used to hunting and hasn't been involved in a lot over the past month or so beyond digging up bones and dealing with smile dogs. And his Grace, providing it would work on the White Hart, would give Po an advantage in tracking him and make him hard to sneak up on. And even if it doesn't work ON the Hart, he'll still be able to sense any trails left behind. Po can also turn into a wolf thanks to one of the rings Morla gave him which could help him sniff out a trail.
someone's gotta start
Because his father can now turn into the White Hart look-alike? Thranduil used flirt, it's super effective, distracts The White Hart long enough for his son to have a shot! Etc.Not sure about deserving to win, but he's a wood elf and a fairly good hunter all things considered! Good with bow, with tracking thanks to some fancy elf sigh and hearing et all, and he'd throw his all into it (because it's a tradition, and knowing it'll be reborn, then good fun etc), with the likely help from some NPCs! Which could make him further effective and efficient at tracking it down and slaying. I'm not sure how detailed these writes up are supposed to be lmao I can write it up more seriously later!Groggy from a migraine rnno subject
Nominating him because he's an expert beast/monster hunter with a laser guided spear, tracking magic and the skill to tame wild wolves to make them into tracking hounds as well!
Basically, he'd want to win Solais' favor(more of it) and blah blah blah bark bark bark

Mer's been hunting before she came to the Drabwurld and even while she's been here she's been hunting down her own food rather than those provided by taverns and such. Her bow and tracking skills are something that's been honed in her by her father despite being a princess. Hunting and tradition run through her veins
like GIANT RUBBER PANTS, though at first she'll question why they're hunting a beautiful creature like the White Hart. She's had a rather crappy couple of weeks too, so this will be good for her :cno subject
laughs into hands
Peter's all about hunting. As a werewolf, it's in his natural instincts to hunt. He's a natural at it, and given his (awesome) power-up's from Morla, he's become more than capable of hunting the White Hart. He's got keen sense of smell, speed and a clever nasty snide, meaning he fights dirty. Aaaand you know he's all about dat glory.

I'd say because elf but that isn't a proper reason to win. His great skills in hunting aside, he won't exactly be hunting for the sheer glory of it all. This elf has a large ego when it comes to his skills and it is not all bluster, he knows he is a good hunter and he can shoot an arrow better than most gathered here. He'll treat it more as an opportunity to sharpen his skills, slaying the beast will a nice side bonus. So he probably doesn't deserve to win... Perhaps.

He doesn't have much in the way of heroic commendations in the Drabwurld, but after the training (and nice new bow) he's received by way of his last boon, he's more determined than ever to prove his worth as a warrior. Although he hasn't spent much time hunting game before, he has plenty of experience when it comes to sneaking in the wilderness and sniping from afar, and he has certain abilities which will give him an upper hand: his natural heightened senses as a Khajiit, which allow him to see easily at night and hear from a distance, and his dragon shout Aura Whisper, which gives him the power to see the life forces of any and all entities -- even supernatural ones -- in the vicinity.

Because a) she's a hunter. this is what she was born to do but more than that, she's a Hunter of Artemis. People who basically dedicate an immortal life to do this exact type of thing. She also has expert tracking/hunting skills because she's the lieutenant of this gang an basically learned it all from the Goddess of Hunting herself. Though she did come with her own added skills. Plus this is the second ~magical~ deer-like creature that she'll be hunting. The first one being Artemis's sacred deer-thing. She also has two cutie wolves helping her and has keen wildlife abilities to where she communicate with other wolves and hunting creatures.
But more than that, Thalia is going to be insanely dedicated to this like no fking way. Anyone who gets in her way will have an arrow heading their way.

King Arthur's legend speaks of the king having participated in the Wild Hunt himself, and even into the 19th century those at Cadbury Castle (thought to possibly be where Camelot once stood), many would swear that on wintery nights, they could hear the king and his hounds rushing down the lane still pursuing their quarry.
In honor of the White Hart, Saber chooses to hunt in a traditional manner upon horseback without the use of her Servant abilities, using the skills she learned and cultivated in life. She also possessed C-Rank Luck, so she is uncannily lucky (which has allowed her to, in canon, dodge an undodgeable blow).
Also, Saber's son has arrived and what better way to encourage father-son relations than to remind Mordred how she'll never live up to Saber's image?

but Loras doesn't like losing anything. Especially when there is a hint of competition involved. So he's going to be out hunting and tracking. When he's not complaining about being cold, because he's a pretty boy from the pretty spring area of Westeros.

And who knows? Maybe Hart blood tastes good? (PROBABLY NOT, EWW, BAMBI'S DAD)

After all that Reynard rescue buisness and his trial/meeting with Sara regarding Redgate, Kaldur is being really strongly reminded of some of what he left back home several months ago. Thanks to the reminder of those problems as well as everything else that has happened so far this year, he's really looking for some sort of tangible symbol of renewal or revival, and after hitting the libraries and other sources for research, he's going to be sooooo down to go after the Hart.
And thanks to Reynard's smear campaign (or rebuttal, maybe given the fruits of his and Waver's frustration), he's also definitely interested in hooking up with some of the (preferably more neutral-leaning) Unseelie hunters
esp. if they can travel/teleport with a +1because he feels like some sort of unified Shard-bearer symbol would be a good thing for general morale of everyone as well. Also, its Yule-season, which makes excellent temporary truce-time, according to more recent-ish Earth history. He isn't necessarily that good at hunting animals on land, but he can scry locations, and is a good tracker of sentients, so he'll probably be tracking the White Hart the way he might, say, Beastboy or Miss Martian, or someone he knows to have a rational, sentient-person mind that can also conveniently transform into an animal. He is also entirely unaffected by the current frigid weather.

Jon knows how to hunt especially in snowy cold terrain, since he learned by going on big hunts with his father/his father's men back in Winterfell, and also from living up in the wilderness north of the Wall for several months. He has a bit of a cheat in that he can turn into a direwolf (with super speed/strength shard powers omg) now as well, and he has a small pack of psychically linked direwolves to help him hunt and track too! Apparently they can smell things from several miles away. Hopefully the white hart won't mind getting snacked on after the kill if Jon wins tho because... wolves. Yes.
Also Jon has had a monumentally crappy past couple months so if anyone wants to cast a pity vote you're doing god's work ok that's all bye.
ETA: also he will be getting help from Team Greenseer, so basically cheating even more by having a half dozen pairs of eyes (some magical!) out there helping him spot the stag.
