STRANGE WEATHER & BATTLES IN THE DRABWURLD

Is your character traveling through the drabwurld in October? Take note! An area between Mair and the Station will have unusual weather. The sky will be magically darkened by massive and lingering thunderstorms.

These storms and cloudcover will be over the fierce battles which were mentioned in the calendar:

18th OCTOBER • Word penetrates both castles of bloody battles being fought between the gathered forces of Maupertius and an unknown force called 'the Red Hand'.

There are characters peppered throughout the game which have more detailed information, received through earlier events. Since the Court Influence system is not yet active, characters are welcome to step into these events if they desire: just note your plan here!

Please use this post to ask any questions or to plan around these events should that be necessary!

Harry Potter and the Thunderstorm Broom Flight

Since leaving Redgate, Harry has pretty much buried himself in the library doing research. He's in dire need to stretch his legs and there's not much he loves more than going for a good, fast flight in miserable autumn weather. (He's also curious about the battle and has a vague idea of what's going on.)

If anyone would like to meet up with a wizard, give me a shout and we can work on something.

Stiles would like to start a petition called 'Leave the F***ing Station Alone'. How is he supposed to show Jon kung-fu movies and gross shit on the internet if it keeps getting messed up.

A man needs his slushies. Come on. He works hard for the slushies and cheesy fries.

Station is right on the edge! People there just get to sit back and watch the scary looking storm.

It'll leak over. There'll be dead bodies all around the yard. The smell will be terrible. How can a man enjoy his damn cheesy fries if he's too busy trying not to gag? Huh? Tell him that, Spike.

Mix it in with a blood milkshake.

If a character has abilities that allow them to manipulate weather, would they be able to stop/momentarily put a stop to the storms? Or would the magic just be too overpowering?

YesI'd absolutely be interested! Ben is going to be traveling about more and he is not going to want to be rained on or maybe be struck by lightning 100% of the time so he would definitely try and stop the storm, at least for as long as he's in the area.

Probably around the 15th! Since he will not be traveling directly back to Caer Glaem after the moon event, and instead will be heading toward and around the station :)

Ganondorf is the one making the storm!

So basically he's employing a curse (he's spending a bit of time charging it up and sort of weaving it into the area) to make it storm in the area. So effectively it's a perpetual storm that's being drawn into the area. I can't speak for how powerful Ben is, but off hand I will say he's capable of succeeding. At least while he's actively trying to stop the storm.

Essentially it's a bit like a running water hose. Ben can step on it and the storm will go away. But the moment he picks up his foot to do something else, the storm (having been held back) will just rush back to occupy whatever area he had suppressed it at. Unless he's actively trying to remove the curse itself, the storm will just keep coming back anytime he stops pushing it away.

omg Ganondorf yassss

that sounds perfect, to me! Ben wouldn't be trying to stop the whole thing, but would at least try for as long as he's in the area and moving forward, and even then, he needs his sleep! He can't keep at it unless he is awake. (and if you need any sort of explanation on Ben's powers, let me know!)

Would Ganondorf notice the storm being momentarily stopped, and would he be doing something about it?

The storm's intended purpose is for the battle itself. So unless Ben is suppressing it in the area above the battlefield, then Ganondorf won't be terribly worried about some other part of it being suppressed. He's just a 'go large or don't go at all' kind of guy when it comes to this kind of thing.

Nope! He won't be fiddling around with the battle at all unless he somehow gets caught in the middle of it (which I doubt) so no worries there c:
