Given that he's somewhat limited in the area he can travel quickly (since it's a big map and he has no teleport option), Vol'jin is probably staying close to Caer Scima, so if there's any bones nearby, that's probably where he'd find them. Unless he can hitch a ride with someone, of course.

The other option is reinforcing the keep there, medical assistance during/after battles, and suchlike.
