NOVEMBER CALENDAR OF EVENTS

Hey, fairybros! November is a BIG MONTH in term of game developments! First, we'd like folks who have NPC/Black Shuck threads to know that these will be carried out to a sensible conclusion!

Secondly, we'd like to introduce the details on the time skipping mechanic! Please go here to review the info and ask any and all questions! Note that as a result of questions and interaction with the game's community, we may update or modify the mechanic, so please check back frequently!

As a note, the Quest Request will be opened in just a few days, with an ETA of November 05! This will be our first batch, and the mod team will approach all participants for the first month for criticism/reviews of the process en masse at the end of the month. We're not entirely sure how to gauge participation at this point, but expect that requests will be closed if it reaches unmaneagable levels, especially with the holiday at the end of the month.

With that in mind, we're also going to put out a blanket notification that all mods are likely going to have spotty activity for holidays this and next month, so as a general rule, expect that we may spend a little more time getting to requests and replies.

The Uprising Dead GENRE: ACTION/ADVENTURE | DURATION: 01-07 NOVEMBER

SUMMARY All over the land, unmarked graves are blooming with green sod and bright, fragrant tulips. The fairies whisper that Black Shuck is returning the Long Dead to the notice of the land, and will urge everyone to rebury the bones of champions in the crypts of the castles before fourteen days have passed. The fairies won't say why, but will be moved to tears if their pleas are not carried out. Even the imps will be frantic over the accomplishment of this task. The monarchs will issue decrees for each shard-holder to follow the instructions of the fae. On the seventh day, midway through the deadline, they will be persuaded by the monarchs to speak plainly: Black Shuck wants his dead honoured by Caer Glaem and Caer Scima alike, even within the Station's mile radius. If the mounds are not exhumed and the contents properly laid to rest, the Dog of Death will lay a sickness on the six lands.

Characters need not accomplish this; those that do may receive special recognition, while those who don't may receive unforeseen consequences!

The Uprising Dead GENRE: ACTION/ADVENTURE | DURATION: 15-21 NOVEMBER

SUMMARY The tulip mounds rot with the sunrise of the fifteenth day. From them rise up large spectral dogs with blank fiery eyes that roam the six realms and attack anyone with a shard. These, the monarchs will inform the realms, are the restless souls claimed by Black Shuck, cast out and damned until felled by the fearless; the trouble with slaying the hungry beasts lies in their ability to inspire ones greatest terrors to grip the heart. As a result, they are difficult to destroy. A royal command will be issued to all shard-holders, instructing them to fortify the castles and all those who are able to ride out and destroy the demonic dogs. Seelie and Unseelie alike will be granted a royal favour at the end of the month.

Since this is not a mass event, players are encouraged to plan and plot among themselves, and set up their own logs as appropriate!

MONTHLY OVERVIEW

01st NOVEMBER (01am IC) • EVENT START. The Black Shuck's will is known, spread via NPCs who have spoken to him at Samhain!
01st-07th NOVEMBER • Saralegui is proclaimed and formally announced Lord of Redgate. News of Reynard's defeat at Maupertius becomes known; his lands are now controlled by Ganondorf Dragmire.
05th NOVEMBER • QUEST REQUESTS OPEN!
15th NOVEMBER • The demon dogs rise and roam the Six Realms!
20th NOVEMBER (00:01am LONDON GMT) • 1) RESERVES OPEN 2) The boon request post goes up on the OOC community. You will be asked to state your character's request and link to proof of having participated in the event. Mods will be around to approve or deny these.
21st NOVEMBER • EVENT CLOSES. If the bones/dogs have been dealt with at player discretion!

The next Calendar of Events post will go up to cover all of December. Weather for this month will be bursts of cold rains with a few frosts and light snows, and mostly slate-gray skies. Nights and early mornings will be utterly frigid. Please feel free to use this as a plotting post. PLOTTING POSTS

THE OUTSIDER will be moving bones to the crypt in Caer Scima, mostly because Lady Red-Hand ~inspired~ him to treat the dead nicely and not just take their bones like a big creepy vulture. He can teleport to seaside locations at night (but only for the night), so he will try to gather bones from those places. He'll be fighting the dogs.

ARIADNE will be moving bones to the crypt in Caer Scima. She can shadow travel/teleport to major locations within forests and can teleport anywhere she's already been on the full moon (November 6th!), so she'll try to focus on mounds in those locations. She'll mostly help with fortifications but will fight if necessary and if any dogs get in!

JOHN GRIMM will be moving bones to the crypt in Caer Glaem; as he can teleport within Glaschu, he'll focus on that region! He'll also be involved in the skirmishes against the Unseelie camps near Cothromach, but I believe that will be happening toward the end of the first week -- either way, he'll try to do both. He will try to fight the dogs but will probably be convinced that Everyone Is Going To Die (haha worst fear) and retreat back to help defend the castle.

Maleficent will probably be curious about sudden outcroppings of tulips everywhere, and when told about the unrestful dead, I'd like to have her possibly work towards putting them to rest. I'm open to having her help both Seelie and Unseelies with this, since the dead are the dead as far as she's concerned.

Stiles will be incredibly creeped out, but hey, it's not the first dead body he's dug up. I plan on keeping him in/around Cothromach for the foreseeable future, but he'll have a way to and from Caer Glaem thanks to his mirror porting, so I sort of expect bones to be shoved his way with a 'the next time you go...' sort of look.

Veronica is so not touching your dead bodies, drabwurld. It's bad enough there's creepy skeletons giving her looks on Jack's boat. Dead-dead bodies are just an auto nope for her.

MERIDA will be moving bones to the crypt in Caer Scima, because it's the right thing to do and she respects the Black Shuck, transporting them on Angus. She'll also be fighting any dogs that she can, although hindered by the fear of her mother being overcome by the bear's instincts.

Seras Victoria

Oh no. Big black dogs with red eyes? Seras' first reaction will be all "MASTER! 8D!!" and then the fear will get to her. Now, how Seras reacts to fear is a bit different. To start with, she will freeze up and be unable to do anything. Then she usually talks herself out of her fear, or at least talks herself into moving enough to get out of the freaking way.

If things get too badly for her, what's still human inside of her gets shut down and her vampire side takes over, causing her to go berserk. This mostly happens when/if she's overpowered by someone or a large group of someones.

As for moving bones? She'll gladly lend a hand.

ANTHONY & TOBOE

Anthony and Toboe are both going to be willing to participate in exhuming and re-burying; the former's certainly not going to take honor/ritual lightly, especially concerning the possible comfort/ease of the dead, and the latter both is going to figure it seems like a right thing to do and wouldn't look a bit out of place digging up or moving bones.

Both are also going to be ready to fight on-call when the dog phantoms appear! Neither is going to have an easy time of it, necessarily, but 'ay - both of them have plenty of heart.

- ANTHONY was recently booned a ring that allows him to immediately teleport to the side of other Seelie, which he's probably going to use to check in at Cothromach, and after that he'll warp anywhere he's welcome to help in burying the dead or fight off dogs. For the latter his surface nerve is going to wear down fairly noticeably fairly fast and leave him on-edge a few hours later thanks to a mind pre-tired-out by canon, and during a fight he might start believing it's all going to hell around him and no thanks to him regardless of what's being done, but he'll definitely hold his ground and do his best to make for fierce and trustworthy backup/partnering-up. He will also be curious to pursue whether any follow-up rites or attempts at "connecting" will do the dogs any good.

- TOBOE meanwhile got pointed to a pack of wolves near Caer Glaem who'll let him train with them! He's flower-minded right now so he'll note the tulips - though firstly he's planning to request his canon's Lunar Flowers for his next boon and might be looking for someone to embark on a quest with (or ask questions about quests to) when the option's there. He might also humbly ask the pack he visits to let him know if they happen on any tulip mounds before he does so he can pass on locations (I may be putting up an open log for one or two, with describing their locations handwaved or posted!) and later on he'll somewhat-more-urgently ask them if they'll call for him if they spot any phantom dogs. Thanks to them he's getting fighting practice in and he has armor - he'd like to prove what he can do beneficially! He hates hurting anyone he doesn't need to and so his fears may be played on there, as the first coming to mind.

Jon will definitely lay the dead to rest okay. He has Experience with why you don't just let bodies lie around. He will probably find a lot of them (sorry Stiles) as he'll make his direwolves run around smelling for tulips, so busy first half of the month for Jon. Yes.

When he fights the dogs he'll try to do it warged because otherwise he's probably going to be a mess from all of his gross asoiaf fears.

Gabranth will take part in moving bones back to Caer Glaem, but only after he's learned of the whole "restless dead" thing. He'll be riding out to fight the dogs, either on his own or with an assembled party.

J'sairr will also be taking bones back to Caer Scima, but he'll be much more reluctant to do any fighting outside of the court. He can probably be convinced to go out and fight, but otherwise, he'll be sticking close to the castle and helping with fortifications.

Alice will be helping moving the bones to the crypts! After her last encounter with the Black Shuck, she'll do what she can to show him her respect as well as the dead.

Without a doubt she'll fight the dogs, because no one messes with her friends.

Aragorn will be moving as many remains from the mounds to Caer Glaem as possible. He doesn't believe in leaving the dead without some sense of peace.

Vanyel won't like this event at all. He'll likely help move remains, but he'll be much more useful when the dogs appear. If you would like for him to protect your character, just ask! (The same applies to Aragorn too. :3 )

KIEREN will be moving bones almost immediately, due personal investment in spooky dead stuff. He will be giving free, unprovoked lectures on the importance of respecting spooky dead stuff. He will also be getting a quest this month.

PETER could not give less of a shit, but likes being spoiled by Morla so he'll be around to move bones and punch spooky doges. This month he will also be battling NPC werewolf alpha so !! Exciting.

Legolas will both move the bones to Caer Glaem because personal experience with the dead and their ghosts already in Drabwurld (leave the Greenwood to him, eyyy he will unearth all that need it), and later do his best to fight the undead dogs (since his greatest fear will actually push him to do better etc). So either if your character wants to tag along, help or be saved by him, I'm game.

MORGANA will be moving bones to the crypt in Caer Scima, for she respects and reveres the Black Shuck a lot and it is sort of her ~*duty*~ being a high priestess of the old religion. She will also fight the dogs, less because she was told to more because they threaten her survival. It will be F U N because boy the fears in this one.

IORVETH will possible also move bones to the crypt in Caer Scima when word reaches him, don't ask why, it is an elf thing. And naturally he will fight the dogs, killing things is something he is pretty damn efficient at. So you know, if you want him to swoop in like a dramatic hero or something hit me up.

LADY SIF will be working very hard to move bones to the crypt in Caer Glaem, transporting her with the aid of her trusty cleg that have yet to be named. Black Shuck asked her to honour the land and she'll certainly be thinking that this is part of what he wished for her to do. If anyone wants a lift there is definitely room for people to ride with her.

She will try to ride out and fight the dogs as well, I am uncertain how they will affect her but I am open to suggestions and ideas. She certainly has fears and I am equally willing to have her succumb to them or overcome them.

KATHERINE, LUKE, & ZUKO

all three of mine are going to try and honour the dead by trying to bury the bones. katherine may or may not prefer it someone else touches the bones. luke wants to continue respecting the black shuck, and death itself, so, he's going to be adamant in trying to do this for him. zuko's reasons are for the spirit world — it's the honourable thing to do.

as for the dogs and terrors, here comes some bare bones plotting!

KATHERINE: she's spent five hundred years collecting things she's afraid of, so! it's going to be a great landmine. mostly, i'm looking for her to be haunted by her mother as she feels incredible guilt over her murder. and she'll be confronted with her self-imposed loneliness as she believes she doesn't deserve to be loved.

she'll be using her super strength against the dogs.

LUKE: he's going to relive losing may to her oracle disease, kronos getting inside of his head and manipulating him, and seeing him harm his ~*~family~*~. he may or may not see ladon during all of this as that particular dragon is the reason why the right side of his face is scarred.

he's going to try and use backbiter (magical sword that can kill almost anything) against the dogs.

ZUKO: he's going to basically be facing ozai and disappointing iroh and his mum. he will also be faced with his biggest fear of becoming ozai. i'm personally hoping to get him a quest this month, but we'll just see how it goes. :3

zuko's going to use his swords and his firebending against the dogs!

if you want to do stuff with the terrors, please note that katherine and zuko come with triggery material such as sexual assault, child abuse, and violence.

Gendry will be at Troichean Beinn still. He'll help move the dead if that's something the dwarves are doing and it is relevant in that area, otherwise he'll be too far away to actually be able to participate. But he will help defend the city from the dead dogs even if it means he'll be facing his terrors. Which given he's been living in Westeros all his life, there should only be five billion things to be terrified of. Woof.

Otherwise I may see if I can get him a quest centered around Troichean Beinn to give him stuff to do.

Ganondorf will instruct his soldiers and workers to do this task and hopefully be able to do this around Mair and Maupertius, instead of around Caer Scima. Otherwise he'll be leading the defense in his own city when the dogs come howling. I'm not sure what his greatest fear is yet, given he's not been killed by Link yet.

He'll spend the rest of his month biding his time and hunting Reynard. People who know about Sose and Adler are of particular interest. (I may make a post about this.)

Spike won't give a damn about moving corpses, but he won't be anywhere he can elude the black mutts, so he'll give them a few bloody noses for dear old Morla's sake. Or just out of self defense. Not sure on what his fears would be, though they probably all center on rejection. Fulle time "You're beneath me."

Otherwise he'll be in the Greenwood turning elves into vampires because Morla said so. He may also be looking for a girlfriend to make Buffy jealous. He's that mature, really.

Basically my characters will do their shit and chances are no one will be around to appreciate them doing it!

ok i'm going to try to be more active this month but--

LLOYD will definitely be helping out as much as he can, moving bones as well as taking out the dogs. with the bones, he's already experienced his fair share of death (and even helped out with a burial for a rotted corpse once) and believes that everyone should be at ease in their final moments and beyond, regardless of what they did. with the dogs, he might freeze up from the fear (of what i still need to decide on) but if someone's around to give him a good old "Get A Hold Of Yourself, Man!", then he'll be able to fight on.

ETA: thanks to Zelos, Lloyd will also be joined by his noble steed/oversized man's best friend Noishe while moving the bones, so any dog-lovers are welcome to join him as well. Noishe will not be around during doge-hunting because he's a pansy around monsters.

Javik, for once, will be going along with what the fairies and monarchs say and get to digging up some bones. Because if you can't deal with your dead, they tend to come to kill you after the Reapers have... reaperized them. His worst fear is basically already his life (Reapers have won, his people are dead, etc.) but that won't make him immune by any means. He'll fight whatever he runs into or needs to!

After these events he'll probably be heading to Loch Sluagh to... check on another grave. EDIT: just kidding, he's going be headed there probably immediately. There's one grave in particular he's interested in, but if he runs across others he might deal with those ones too. So yeah, if anyone wants to make an emergency trip with him to Loch Sluagh, hit me up!

Flora Will get in on moving bones and can and will be moving quite a few at a time and in a lot of places, because she can because magic. But this may be a little personal for her, just a biiit, even if the dead should be respected always. She also likes the Black Shuck so, w/e sounds legit. If anyone needs assistance unearthing or moving, she's your girl. She's also going out to fight, but she might have a scared moment.

Bolin is open and available to help move some bones, and he'll definitely be doing his best to be useful on that front!

When it comes to the spectral dogs uprising, he'll still be trying his best to help: we'll see how much lavabending will turn out to be able to help, and all. Still trying to work out this worst fear details, though. Probably pretty generic losing-his-family, being left alone stuff idk. He's pretty okay at functioning while freaked out, but the greatest terror gripping his heart might not be so easy for him to work with.

And I think he'll be out on the road with Cassie and co. for at least some of this? Just how on the road he is will probably determine if he'll be more useful for gathering old dead warriors up than he is for actually delivering them. He'll have his boon armor, so he can fairy ring himself anywhere that he's already been, which means there are at least a couple of options open for him to turn up to check on things elsewhere during the fighting, even if it won't be helpful for moving bones.

Nico is definitely going to do mass burial rites as well as moving the remains into Caer Glaem's crypts because he has no idea if they've already had them or not, so he's going to be careful about this. He's also going to join the fight against the spectral dogs! Terrors will include: abandonment by close CR, death of close CR, falling in love, and everything to do with Tartarus.

I'll be putting up a catch-all log for the first part of the event! I'm not quite sure if he's going to still be in Caer Glaem by the time the second part of the event rolls around. :|a

Waver Velvet will be using his friendly mercury assistant to seek out any tulip mounds on the acre of land that the Barrel sits on! He'll need help digging bodies up though, and moreover and more importantly assistance in moving them to the Caer-s. If any of his teleporting friends can lend a hand, that'd be useful!

If fellow folks at the Barrel are up for it, there could be attacks from other black dogs near by on other people's properties/the greater area! I'm game for anything and also game for Barrel visitors to lend a hand too.

Waver's big fears center around A) his friends living with him passing in the Drabwurld and B) actually losing the war against the Association back home and getting a sealing designation for trying to stand up to his own government, so poking at that could be very satisfying.

KORRA.

for the first part of the event, korra's going to be on the road, but she will definitely be moving/digging up the bones of the lost champions and making sure they get to their respective crypts.

she'll be back in caer glaem by the time the dogs start hunting and she will be throwing herself into fighting them as much as possible, trying to face her fears of amon, unavaatu, and the red lotus (+ other fears) as she does so. fortunately since she hasn't lived through the events of the season finale of book 3, her fears won't be nearly as paralyzing, though she will still struggle with it.

she is available for team-ups!! not only will she have all the elements at her fingertips but she has a giant polar beardog and a sky bison! and probably some other things i can't remember atm because i just woke up but come 2 me let's kick some spirit ass.

Saber Alter

Saber will be heading from Troichean Beinn to Mair via the Barrel this month, so she'll be traveling on horseback to Daonna. Once there, any bones she has collected - specifically from the Redgate area - will be taken to their respective castles. Anyone in that area is welcome to help her.

Once the bones have been taken care of and Saber continues along the Southern Road, Saber will reach The Barrel before the second half of the event, but can help anyone she meets along the way between Daonna and The Barrel. She will have Rin Tohsaka with her from The Barrel to Mair, but will be fighting dogs along the way.

Should anyone on the Eastern Road or in the Station need help fighting off dogs, Saber and Rin will be around and far too willing to help out if they see someone beset by dogs. Though once they reach Mair, Saber will largely be unavailable.

Thomas will be helping to bury dead bones for sure, though probably not slaying any dogs. The undead's already kind of a sensitive topic for him, ok. But he'll be in Caer Scima working on that for the duration of the event.

Bran however, I want to slay a dog via Summer! REALLY BAD. So if anyone wants to do any warg plotting re: coth, I am 100% here for it. I need to get him a boon this month and this is the way to do it, man.
