Winter Party Planning Post

Hi everyone, Meg/Waver-mun here. As the Calendar of Events indicated, there’s going to be a holiday party over at the Barrel on 19 December.

The long and short of it is that the party will be open to both courts, and amount to an excuse for everyone to hang out around a giant bonfire, have snowball fights, enjoy some excellent food, and hang out.

However, to make sure everyone has a good time, I wanted to ensure that there was a space for everyone to ask questions, make suggestions either in term of decorations, spaces to be made available for activities etc., and plot.

The announcement of the party over the network will be handwaved, and the log itself will go up on Wednesday, December 17th.

A note: Unlike Samhain, where transportation wasn’t a problem, everyone will have to get to the Barrel out in Nihm Gleanne under their own steam. There is a thread here for those who would like to offer taxi services.

For those who'd like to arrange transportation. The Barrel is about five days out from the Station and the Daonna rings.

Gotcha! I'm totally keeping an eye on this thread then. I've noticed that easier travel methods are often requested as boons so it may be a good idea to revise this thread later in the month? After December's boons are delivered we may get some new options.

The event's date has already been cleared with the mods, unfortunately, and there's other things going on with the courts later in the month. It really can't be changed.

Can Shijima tag along? She can go as a cat if it makes it easier on Merida, although she'd ask as a human.

Shijima can tag along! Angus is big enough to carry two humans I'd imagine but she'd be surprised to see her kitty friend from the feast :3

YES I figured as much but if Merida wanted to ferry someone else as well Shijima could potentially take up less room, just so she knows!

Flora

Hay sup, heard you guys need a ride.

Flora will be available for taking people to and fro, though I'm not sure if Yule is like Samhain in which everyone stops killing each other, in which case Unseelie might be out unless they're her friends or friends of friends. She's got nothing against you guys, she just doesn't want to die for setting foot too close to your territories.

I know that there are people among the Unseelie who can teleport to places as long as they've been there, so if there are characters who haven't been to the barrel but have been elsewhere, she can help take you the rest of the way, instead!

Hey there! I'm definitely needing taxi services for Dave, since he can only go to places he's been before. Is Flora going to be around picking people just because or should we plan some kind of cr meeting? Dave can be at the Station or the Seelie castle.

Heyyyy, so I see Maglor is an Unseelie but do you think he'd be able to take Castle back to Glaem after the party? Has he been there before? Castle's magic ring only works during the day time.

He can and he has! Mags has familiar in Glaem, you see, and he visits regularly =p Mags' ring only works by moonlight, so they're mirrors of each other XD Mags will be happy to take Castle home~

I am absolutely shit at travel calculations for this game so I have no idea how long it might take to get to the Barrel on a cleg but Sif does have one and would probably be willing to take at least someone with her.

Seriously anyone willing to give me an estimation how long that would take would have my eternal gratitude xD

Waver-mun here on the other account. I figure probably two days from either the station or daonna ring? I usually cut on-horse times in half for clegg travel unless you're REALLY GONNA HAUL ASS AND MAKE IT IN ONE DAY

Gosh, sorry it took me so long to respond to this, it fell right out of my head!

Yes, she certainly can travel with her, at least on the way there. I am a little unsure if Sif will be going back to Caer Glaem after that or if she'll head to Thranduil's place.
