January Boon Requests

Hey fairybroskis! You know what time it is? Boon time!

Requests are up, which means the fairies and imps are out and about bothering people from their respective factions to note down the number one item on their wishlist again!




Wherever Shardbearer characters are in the Drabwurld, at some point today they will be approached by fairies or imps, depending on their alignment, bearing a piece of parchment and a quill. They will urge your character to write down a request for an item, power or favour from their monarchs in exchange for fighting or supporting their faction and they will take it away through a fairy-ring when it is written. There are three easy rules your character will be informed MUST NOT be broken:

1) "Do not call for time and space to be bent to your will!"

2) "You may not request another's true love or devotion!"

3) "Ask not for a road home or the loved ones whence you came!"

Essentially, the OOC boundaries relayed through IC means to your character are to avoid game-breaking demands being made. They will be approved, altered or denied here until 24th JANUARY (00:01am LONDON GMT) so that when your character receives their boon on the morning of 25th (you can pick any time for them to be delivered/show up) no matter where they are there is no fuss, no muss!

This month, everybody who participated in war preparations gets a boon! Feel free to link to any threads (completed or ongoing) that will show your character getting involved in the event this month: only actual participation (not referenced participation) will warrant a boon. For those using quest logs to count as both quest material and as boons, you could have gone a good measure over minimum wordcount to receive your boon: ideally having another 200 words or so.

Leo's used to traveling by dragon or airship, so this slow travel thing can get agonizing, but neither of his own travel methods from home will work in the Drabwurld. BOON REQUEST: Even though Faolan is technically dead at the time of the boon requests, I spoke to a mod who reassured me that him having left a note would be acceptable for his last boon. So Faolan would have left this little scrap of brainstorming out somewhere pretty obvious, just in case he wasn't back in time.
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: Realizing that this is just Faolan brainstorming and not actually a letter requesting anything specific and therefore it's SUPER vague, some suggestions for how this could be interpreted might be: a means to be alerted when Lancelot is in danger (and possibly also be transported to his side??? maybe the ring that Solais gave him for his quest reward could be souped up to be able to do this?), better means to protect him in general (an ability that might aid him in this maybe? MAYBE A PLAY ON THE HOUND TITLE SOMEHOW???), maybe a network of guards at his disposal to report to him on Lancelot's security/whereabouts (this could possibly already have been accomplished with the ring though, I'm not sure?)

BOON REQUEST: Access to the Restricted section in the Caer Glaem library, and a safe space, indestructible via magic that he might use for a space for possible lessons in the future
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: BASICALLY Remus is a werewolf wizard, and he will always be a scholar and a professor at heart, and while he has a couple of his former students in this world they're all grown up and seem to be doing pretty well on their own. He misses his gig at Hogwarts more than he can say - every time Harry and Hermione talk about him being their favorite professor it makes him miss it that much more. And they're adults, they don't need him looking after them. He needs something else to do with his time. A project to keep him preoccupied and not so lonely and sad. SO WHAT IF HE WERE TO START TEACHING AGAIN??? Knowledge is power, after all, and there are always new waves of people coming in - plus some people just like learning/not having to do the research on their own. The access and the space are a step in that direction, although he would definitely elaborate to make clear what his intentions are for any possible alterations/additions onto that!

POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: I am always up for Pod having to work for things, so being guided to a way to learn to speak with animals is perfectly acceptable instead! As is being given a way (or a way to learn) how to speak to only one kind of animal.

If a quicker way to travel is the boon given, a mount is cool (so long as it won't freak out around or try to attack a wolverine), or some magical method would work equally well.

POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: He's, of course, talking about his metal arm, which is currently non-functional thanks it being technological in nature. Ideally, I'd like for the arm just to be functional everywhere he goes, but if for some reason that's impossible, an alternative could be that his metal arm is transformed into a flesh and blood arm with all the power and strength and durability of the metal arm, just... flesh and blood. He'd still have the star on his shoulder as a tattoo, and all the scars would still be there.

Another couple of options I came up with is the arm could be flesh and blood until Bucky gets into combat situations, and then it turns metal, or potentially he could be able to transform it at will. Just another couple of ideas I came up with.

My preference is still just that the regular metal arm is functional, but any of the above options would be fine. If you have any other alternative ideas, I'm open to them as well!

UH yeah I still have no clue how exactly this would work, toooo be perfectly honest. at this point I'm mostly just going "it doesn't make much sense for her to not use her canon power more", so something to do with that ( dreams/visions/prophecy/seeing the past&present&future stuff ) would be cool. although I realize any kind of boon having to do with her Sight will need to always be planned out with different players, so I'll be throwing my permissions post at everyone again, but yeah.
being able to communicate with people in dreams could be cool? not telepathy or dreamwalking ( ..although that'd be rad ) so much as just a way of communication. it's also.. hilarious cause that means she'd have to be asleep or like, meditate to do it, but that's okay.

BOON REQUEST:
The twin swords Kanshou and Bakuya. While the signature traced weapon of Archer, thanks to their unique nature, this pair of swords is also Shirou's most traced sword.

POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS:
Since these are just a pair of twin swords that could pull one to the other and vice versa, it'd be great if it could actually connect whoever holds one half of the blade. It'd be a simple telepathic connection that would just tell the state of life of the other person. If this isn't feasible, just wildcard it.

Oh, and since Shirou's skills are not on par with Archer yet, he can't use their Overedge form as it'd break the moment he tries to use it.

POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: In keeping with the theme that the Doctor refuses to be specific with his boon requests, he probably wouldn't attach anything beyond maybe the word fast to the request. Essentially I'm leaving it up to you guys in this case if he'd actually get some transportation or if to punish him for not being specifc, he totally gets something different. Wildcard away, I guess.
