FEBRUARY CALENDAR OF EVENTS
Hey, fairybros! As a heads up, the results of the Timeskip Vote results are in, and Eachdraidh will be engaging in a Timeskip of one year. Logging for the timeskip will be done concurrently with the events of Feb, March, and April, and as of May 01 the game will be post-timeskip. We request that each character in the game who is not going to utilise an opt-out mechanism for the entirety of the timeskip to post a timeskip page on their journal. We have constructed a sample timeskip page for you here. The code for it, with all time organisation in-tact, may be taken from the last comment on the page, or may be accessed below:
Players are free to design their own pages, of course, and it can be easily expanded to include additional years. These pages, in addition to organising what happens to your character, shall be used for logging out most of the events of the timeskip at your discretion. For March and April, threads logged on this page can be used to count for AC. We ask that most logs occur on these pages for smaller timeskip events so as not to clutter the log comms for those playing current events in February, March, and April. We will be releasing a game Timeskip Calendar shortly, which will be followed by a timeskip CR meme.
But what about THIS month? Most of you already know exactly what to expect, so, without further ado, your February event!

The Wrath of the Jabberwhelp GENRE: ACTION/ADVENTURE | DURATION: 07-14 FEBRUARY |

SUMMARY The battledrums are beating, the armies are marching, and it was only a matter of time before war covered the drabwurld again. The Seelie armies received orders to push north from the Cathraon, and encounter an entrenched Unseelie force. Details about the battleplan can be found here. Please sign up for a part on the conflict, should you want one, using the roster page. The roster will be finalised by the end of February 01. But as a result of these battles, on February 07 the Jabberwhelp will be released from under Caer Scima, where the High-King had been helping to craft it! In a pain-maddened fury, the Jabberwhelp will fly to the lands of Glaschu and begin to carve a path of great destruction through Seelie lands. After its release, the monarchs will make handwaved proclamations:
Seelie characters will be bade to either 01) keep the Unseelie embattled on the front lines and unable to enter Glaschu to rescue the Jabberwhelp, or to 02) hunt and slay the infant monster by any means possible before its Unseelie allies can rescue it!
Meanwhile, from the ruin of Caer Scima, Unseelie characters will be asked to save the Jabberwhelp at any cost by either 01) engaging the Seelie army and ensuring the Seelie cannot hunt it in force, or 02 riding out into enemy territory to herd it back! They will be informed that the Jabberwhelp will actively resist harming Unseelie chracters. Characters who have maintained friendly relationships with the imps will be told the secret to calming an enraged young Jabberwhelp:
+ Gifts of lavender! For some strange reason, this plant alone resists the Jabberwhelp's aura of rot, and functions rather like catnip.
+ Riddles and puzzles! A young Jabberwhelp is easily distracted and quite gullible.
+ Touch! Juvenile Jabberwhelps cannot control their aura of rot, which is as painful for them to endure as those around them. For those who can endure the discomfort of its aura of rot, petting the Jabberwhelp can calm it substantially, and even lull it to sleep.
The Jabberwhelp has an aura of rot, which will make plants and flesh within a 30m radius of its presence begin to rot. Characters who approach will see their own flesh begin to blacken and slough away. Fleeing from the Jabberwhelp will allow this condition to slowly heal. For most characters, lingering overlong within this aura of rot will be fatal. The Jabberwhelp will actively seek to kill Seelie characters, and flee from Unseelie characters who approach it unless they have learned one of the secrets to calm it.

korra's ICly made plans for the start of the battle and will be involved with a few things there, and those plans have been in the works for a while. since she's already in such disgrace in the seelie court she's not going to want to go against a direct order to be out in the battle unless she has a very good reason to. if need be i can see if i can re-arrange some things so she can back out of the battles as soon as she sees the jabberwhelp released. appa is a very fast flier, so i'm sure we can work something out.

This is meant to be a punishment, not a job, so it isn't necessarily going to work well with what Korra wants to do. As time passes and she earns some trust back it can certainly be arranged for her to have more freedom, but this whole arrangement has only just been set up and there is reason right now why that guard post is necessary. If Korra takes off to join in a fight and especially without even asking for permission, Sara would have to see that as her abandoning her post when she was most needed and he'd probably have to reinstate her bounty.

i even pinged you here on this plurk when we were all working out alternative punishments to "kill tarz," since that couldn't happen. john grimm has been playing taxi with korra since he can teleport around glaschu and has made sure she's checked in at the western road — and korra has good standing with a sorceress named Zubaida who could possibly set up wards and stuff for the road so that korra can be alerted to trouble and head back there, as per Snow's suggestion. she's also in very good standing with a kirin whom she could ask to help her out. there was never once any mention of this happening "after korra established herself," nor was there any mention that korra would have been made aware of tarz's threats toward redgate because that would have changed her actions after the trial dramatically; it's really unfair to drop these details on me now.
i get that this is a punishment for korra, but please don't punish me because the details weren't worked out quickly.

I'm not trying to punish you, but I do have to be as reasonably IC about this on my own end as possible. Korra's already being given an extremely lenient punishment, and it's kind of ridiculous to assume that she could just go off and do whatever she wants when all she's being asked to do now is guard the road (with the chance to earn even more freedom in the future).
