+1 nerdy not-quite superhero weird kid

Hi everyone!

It's Nina here again, the slightly less new newbie with Arthur Pendragon, I now also bring you Simon Bellamy from the BBC's series Misfits. Isn't he adorable?

For those of you who aren't familiar with Misfits it's a brilliant series - everyone says it's kinda like Skins and Heroes mixed together! Five young adults, who are generally a misanthropic bunch serving a Anti-Social Behaviour Order are given superpowers, not necessarily good/useful powers and they don't necessarily do good things with them. Simon in particular can be slightly awkward, though he's less shy these days it's not hard to make him uncomfortable. He's nerdy, he's a bit of a weirdo sometimes, but mostly he comes across as a normal guy, that probably stares a bit too much.

Simon will be residing in the Unseelie Court, and quite for the cause of learning how to wave a sword around and ride a horse. Someone do teach him. PLZ.

Simon has a couple of current powers; immunity (to other powers) and foresight; which allows him to unpredictably see the outcome, good or bad of imminent events. He can't control it, it doesn't happen very often and it only ever happens at random. Sooo it's not terribly useful and I'll always ask first if I think it should ever be brought into play in a scene, chances are it won't be.

As for the Immunity, it's hard to say how non-canon powers would work against him, but my current thoughts are that say, a mutant/x-men type power or say a power/influence that was specific to that character might not affect him, but something like a spell would.

He's also a massive fantasy, sci-fi, pop-culture nerd - SO the way I intend to handle this, without running around having him squeal at everyone being HIS FAVOURITE FICTIONAL CHARACTER OOPS, I'm just going to vague it up. So, say he meets a Tolkien character he's not going go to recognise them AS Legolas or Galadriel and he won't know anything about them, but he might recognise them as being elves, because he's read about elves and they have pointy ears, are tall etc and omg are they real elves lol hi.

Or say X-Men or Marvel folks, he won't know individual characters, but knows about the concept of mutant powers, or superheroes, so he might be excited about talking to a real Hero BECAUSE wow COOL hello but he won't know of Wolverine or Thor specifically.

If this worries anyone at all, please let me know. But I do plan to be very careful, and Simon won't be broadcasting anyone is fictional. >D

Anyway hi! Looking forward to making Unseelie friends. Feel free to join me on plurk [plurk.com profile] shahfla or contact me heeere [personal profile] fateagainstyourwill
