APRIL Calendar of Events

Hi, guys! This is the first Calender of Events post for ED. Firstly, there will be a welcoming feast thrown for the new arrivals in either court to celebrate the monarchs' new way of pulling in Shard-holders. Feel free to link back to threads on the Test-Drive Meme and continue them if you wish to carry over your CR from it! You can tag into this whenever you please, there's no rush.
01st APRGAME OPENS. Dual feasts held in Caer Glaem and Caer Scima to welcome the new arrivals. Here's the link!
Congratulations on being the first wave of players in Eachdraidh! WE DID IT, GUYS, WE'RE A REAL THING NOW. Well done!! A couple of things first: the majority of our revisions are regarding character relationships, a lack of direct canon references in the Personality section and elaboration on Court Alliances. To avoid future confusion, we'll be updating the App Page after the 04th, when apps close! Please don't panic if you haven't had a response yet! Apps are still being processed.

NOW THE FUN BEGINS.

To start you all off with something that will ease you into the game and help to promote CR, the first event will be an Action/Adventure! This was designed to assist PCs in gaining a little wealth of their own, should they wish to begin building an independent source of income besides the factions, and to reinforce camaraderie between anyone in the Seelie or Unseelie in order to generate some lasting allies right off the bat! Characters should pay attention to the goodies in the bellies of ...

The LAMBTON WORMS
GENRE: ACTION/ADVENTURE | DURATION: 08-20 APR

SUMMARY Lambton Worms have begun burrowing up through the six realms and making homes of water sources, coiling themselves around hills and through rivers, choking off the supply of food and drink. They are regarded far and wide as pests and orders will be issued by both courts for their destruction on-sight after Unseelie food supplies have been stemmed and the innocents in the towns of Glaschu devoured. The Station's water supply will be covered in at least three worms who will need to be ousted before any water may be drank from the on-site wells and streams. For every worm slain, their innards will hold precious stones and gold coins!

The worms will range from seven- to forty-feet long, from babies to fully-grown adults. They like to strangle and suffocate their victims in the coils of their snake-like, muscled bodies, and are most at home in water and soil. They own a shrill, piercing shriek that confuses prey and if allowed to strike their fangs will sink a paralyzing venom into the victim that will render them seemingly lifeless for twenty-four hours. Only slicing up the worms and burning the separate pieces will prevent them from healing. Anyone bitten or injured ought to be rushed back to their respective infirmary for treatment! By the 16th, the worms will have made their way into the castles' grounds.

08th APR EVENT START. Lambton Worms begin to burrow to the surface and harass the Six Realms.
10th APR • Seelie royal proclamations (ICly handwaved as having been posted around the castles) are issued by the Seelie monarchs for the destruction of the worms after several farming homesteads in Glaschu are attacked and the proprietors eaten. Those who obey are promised, in the proclamation, that they will be rewarded with a 'boon' from the rulers.
12th APR • Unseelie royal commands (ICly handwaved as having been posted around the castles) are issued by the Unseelie monarchs for the destruction of the worms after they break into the storerooms of Caer Scima and devour a quarter of the food supply. PCs are encouraged to notice this early on in the day and to fight the worms! The (handwaved!) commands will be given at 14:00pm in-game (after characters have their lunch disturbed!). Those who obey are promised, in the proclamation, that they will be rewarded with a 'boon' from the rulers.
16th APR • Worms have made their way into the damp dungeons of Caer Scima and the fair fountains of Caer Glaem.
20th APREVENT CLOSES. Most, if not all, of the worms are exterminated, depending on PC involvement. The mods will take stock (at the boon request post) of how many worms were slain and this will affect future events! Any character who slew a worm will be informed by the servants that they are to request a boon of their monarchs, who wish to repay them for their loyalty.
Players are encouraged to team up and take on the Lambton Worms together! On the 20th, a Mod post will go up the OOC community so that requests can be placed for Seelie and Unseelie boons to be approved, denied or altered according to the monarchs' desires. On the 25th, boons will be received and the first audience with the monarchs will take place on the Log Comm, which will again be posted by the Mods. For easy reference:
20th APR • The boon request post goes up on the OOC community. You will be asked to state your character's request and link to proof of having participated in the event. Mods will be around to approve or deny these.
23rd APR (00:01am) • Boon requests close!
25th APR • Approved or altered, boons are ICLY received today when characters wake up. A mod post will be put up on the Log community for the first public audience with the monarchs of both courts in each respective throne room. Here is where you can finally stand in your respective throne-rooms and see your rulers face to face!
26th APRACTIVITY CHECK.
That's right, the Activity Check will swing around on the 26th! The next Calender of Events post will go up toward the end of April to cover all of May. Weather will be light rainy drizzle (April showers!) with sunshine here and there. Nights will be cold, possibly with hail!

Feel free to get to know each other on the OOC Comm! You can use this post to plot in, if you'd like! Finally, if you have any queries about the event, please direct them to the Questions thread below and feel free to use this post to plot together. Thank you!

Is there a way to deal with the worms without killing them? Aang will be doing his damndest to help out, but he really doesn't like to kill, especially in such a brutal way. Could he redirect them somehow, by earthbending/waterbending an underground water supply they could use and freezing their venom sacs to make them less dangerous?

Will player characters receive any sort of instruction as to the proper method of dealing with the worms (i.e. slicing and burning), or will they have to figure it out for themselves? Likewise, will there be any indication of the treasure in their innards or will that have to be discovered?

Cool, thank you! :)

Event Questions

Two things:

1) Can we assume that other methods of dealing with the worms will affect them, (large amounts of electric shock resulting in paralysis, hacking into pieces still results into pieces) it just won't kill them?
--As a caveat to this, does that mean that hacking into pieces (without burning) result in regeneration a la starfish from each of the pieces?

2) Specifically focusing on Kaldur, does Kaldur's poison immunity in regards to oceany-watery creatures extend to the worms, and if not a full immunity a partial one? Or not at all.

1) Oh dear. Regenerating starfishworms.

2) Cool, I will dwell on this.

Clarisse's sword is made of Celestial bronze which, technically, can vaporize any monster on contact. I'm not sure if that applies here, though, since technically these monsters aren't from her realm? I just wanted to clarify before assuming her sword is a magical loophole.

Okay, great, thanks!
