HI GUYS. I've got something of a heads up/plotting post for you today! You see, Hans here got assigned by Morla to infiltrate the Seelie court in disguise, attempt to wheedle information out of various Seelie subjects, and pass said information on to Ganondorf. Morla granted Hans a magical ring that disguises not only his appearance (so those he has met will not recognize him) but also his true court allegiance. Basically, Hans will appear as a humble knight native to the Drabwurld, come to Caer Glaem to pledge his service to the Seelie. Great news, right?

Morla assigned Hans to stay at Caer Glaem for a season, so this will be a slow-burning plot with Hans focusing on building a rapport first with various Seelie, especially those with bounties, before stealing any information. So! A couple of things:

Though I won't be using an alt account or alt icons, Hanseelie will not be recognizable as himself. He'll look more like your run-of-the-mill stock knight character (but still a ginger, because gingers represent). Also, he will be going under a pseudonym, obviously, one he picked up while traveling to Caer Glaem, and you can bet he'll have invented some tragically heroic backstory for his alter-ego.

If your character gets CR with Hanseelie, that certainly doesn't mean later they'll have to forfeit information! I'm all for building the CR up and Hans not getting anything out it.

If you do want to use this plot as an opportunity to get your character or the Seelie in hot water, I'm happy to work with that, too! And at any time, as well. My goal is to make this plot as fun and smooth for everyone as possible, so Hans can either end up cutting a serious blow to the Seelie court, or learning nothing at all! It all depends on how ye Seelie players want it to go.

Down the line this plot will expand and there also will likely be opportunities for Hans to be found out. Because really, what's the fun in just letting him get away with it?

Hans will be keeping up appearances as himself on the lockets so those aware of his true character won't get suspicious about where he's gone. If anyone asks him, he'll say he's at Mair.

UM YES I think that's all I have for now! Hanseelie will be arriving at Caer Glaem on the 10th or 11th and I'm planning to put up a log for that. Shoot any questions, comments, ideas, etc. to me here or on Plurk (cinematic). Thanks!!

I have Luke over in the Seelie who is good pals with some of the bounties (particularly Nico and Clarisse) and I'm hoping for him to be able to actually show he gives a shit about them by trying to subtly deal with this bounty stuff on their heads. maybe these two can do something together when the time is right!

either way, the tragic hero backstory will press all of Luke's buttons, so. if Hans plays his cards right, he could get some general Seelie info from him!

Toboe's as new as Hans is and would be another of those without much if any information of value to offer off the bat - but he is rather optimistic, rather quick to offer trust, and rather loyal. Hanseelie might have an ally or so-Toboe-would-think buddy in him up until any sort of reveal - which would leave Toboe rather had and rather furious, if they happen across each other and interact at length!

Cool cool, allies are great! And furious aftermath is ALSO GREAT. Sob, Hans has a habit of picking up the rather optimistic ones, too. We can definitely get something going.

Sigrid is an apprentice spy--apprenticed to someone sorted into Unseelie House, no less--and I'd love to play with this a bit. She has some very loyal birds who hang out, chill, feed their families, and let her know if they see anything of note. Particularly stuff like this! Though it should be emphasized that plenty of factors go into her finding things out. First, a bird has to notice a thing. Second, they have to deem it important enough for Sigrid to know. Then, they have to go find her and tell her the thing. We are not exactly talking about a complex video camera system, so whatever information she learns of Hans' identity can be cherrypicked (try to imagine how a bird would describe a human face and you will see what I mean).

I'm also willing for Hans to learn this and that about a rival spy and make things dangerous for her as well. I'd prefer she not be totally blown, since I don't want to end her usefulness as a spy, but she's been going by the alias "Friend" for all practical purposes, and if Hans wants to learn of the existence and purpose of Friend, that could potentially be a thing to play with (the purpose being to minimize bloodshed and conflict on both sides). So now that a bunch of toys are in the sandbox, let's figure out a castle.

He'd find some way to explain it away, but someone knowing he came from Unseelie territory would definitely throw him for a loop and she's certainly welcome to become suspicious about him because of that. :|a

And yes, it would be cool for him to be suspicious about Friend, too! Depending on what kind of actions "Friend" takes, he'd be more inclined to dig for information. That really comes down to whether or not she interferes with his plans, but he'd definitely be interested in there being another spy around what what they're trying to accomplish. So we could play that by ear depending on what kind of actions she takes as Friend?

... Lance is both incredibly trusting and earnest but also meant to be reasonably good at seeing through lies having dealt with Merlin who is the Biggest Liar In All Of Camelot so it could go either way tbh.

SO I'd definitely be open to the idea of Lance getting suspicious about him down the road! I'd love for his position to get a bit precarious.

WOW A MILLION YEARS AFTER THE FACT but hi there, I would love for Faolan to get to know Hans. He's sort of the spy that Sigrid is apprenticed to, an Unseelie that has infiltrated the Seelie and while the monarchs know of him, hasn't been detected or caught yet. I'd love for him to run into/get to know Hans, figure him out somehow, and then... Not do anything with that information bc he's another spy and he's got no reason to do anything with it. As a background on Faolan (bc almost no one knows his canon hahahaha), he's the king's chief spy/assassin/mercenary/best friend, and he is really good at the whole spying/assassining thing. Celegorm kind of sent him to infiltrate/steal the Simaril while the battle happened, but then the Simaril wasn't there and Celegorm got himself killed, so now Faolan has moved on to tutoring Sigrid. And thatttttt probably won't come up bc I'd like to keep Faolan's identity a secret if possible, but I'd love to play with what I already mentioned, if you're game/interested?

I'm totally game for Faolan figuring out what Hans is up to, especially considering Hans isn't really trained as a spy, he's just an exceptional liar, so he's likely to foul up covering his tracks somewhere! Does Faolan use an alias in the Seelie court, or is he more like a in-the-shadows-I'm-Batman kind of spy? EITHER WAY, yes I'm definitely interested in having him find out, because even if he doesn't do anything with that knowledge, it's going to make Hans super wary, and that's fun. :|b

I'm so willing to have Seras scar the utter bejesus out of Hans a bit. She is a vampire and well, fighting shadow things will make her go a bit berserk, which can be rather scary. I'm also up for any kind of CR. It can go badly or not, just depending on how they react to each other.
