BOON REQUESTS

Hey fairybros, it's boon time! Requests are up, which means the fairies and imps are out and about bothering people from their respective factions to note down the number one item on their wishlist again!




Wherever Shard-holder characters are in the Drabwurld, at some point today they will be approached by fairies or imps, depending on their alignment, bearing a piece of parchment and a quill. They will urge your character to write down a request for an item, power or favour from their monarchs in exchange for fighting or supporting their faction and they will take it away through a fairy-ring when it is written. There are three easy rules your character will be informed MUST NOT be broken:

1) "Do not call for time and space to be bent to your will!"

2) "You may not request another's true love or devotion!"

3) "Ask not for a road home or the loved ones whence you came!"

Essentially, the OOC boundaries relayed through IC means to your character are to avoid game-breaking demands being made. They will be approved, altered or denied here until 24th OCTOBER (00:01am LONDON GMT) so that when your character receives their boon on the morning of 25th (you can pick any time for them to be delivered/show up) no matter where they are there is no fuss, no muss! The royal audiences are bi-monthly and the the next shall be posted shortly, which the fairies and imps will also be informing people.

This month, everybody who participated in the moon plot gets a boon! Feel free to link to any threads (completed or ongoing) that will show your character getting involved in the event this month: only actual participation (not referenced participation) will warrant a boon. Simply C&P the below into your comment:

If your character doesn't want to request a boon they may simply wave away the fairies/imps. It is not possible to "save up" Boon Requests for later events, so make sure to get yours in if you want one! Please try to think of a boon to suggest; wildcard boons will likely be saved for last.

RELEVANT THREAD(S): Talked Luke down when he caught the moon so he didn't give it to the Unseelie and also was around encountering Unseelie in his search -- met Saber Alter but once he established she wasn't overtly looking for a fight (and was a Pendragon) averted a fight. Met Beatrix which... may go the same way as Saber's thread, since she seems inclined to agree moons belong in the sky. Accidentally swaying Unseelie counts for good behaviour points right...
BOON REQUEST: 'A weapon capable of felling creatures like Reynard and the jabberwock'.
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS:
Obviously take in any way that is best for you -- since this goes via the monarchs I figure they know him well enough to know he is a knightly sword wielding type but if the best option is BOW AND ARROW OF SEELIE DOOM he will take it and improve his archery! If he doesn't qualify for a shinier sword giving him a normal one with a note to try harder is fine too.

POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: either through a combination of modern/magic medicine, or even just something to help learn diagnostic things like a book talking about symptoms or how to set bones and sew up injuries and find medical plants to help with pain or whatever! alternatively, he can apprentice with the castle healers, since he knows some of them pretty well....

RELEVANT THREAD(S): Link #1 Link #2 - Spike was there to steal the Moon, but he and the others never got the chance. So effectively he appeared to actually be guarding the moon and later trying to chase it down.
BOON REQUEST: "There's this gem back home that works as nice fancy sunblock." - this being the Gem of Amara.
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: Spike will probably get rejected because of the Reynard thing. In which case - fair enough. Otherwise he might just be happy getting Morla's offer for protection from the sun that she offered during his first day. He's on the verge of becoming rather nasty and may find himself inclined to start causing a little chaos on the Seelie side (as opposed to just wherever the hell he likes.)

RELEVANT THREAD(S): Link #1 - Ganondorf was mainly there for the fight and he fought quite a few off! He didn't get to kill anyone off, but he made them regret running into him.
BOON REQUEST: The Triforce of Courage.
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: For now, I would prefer he NOT get the completed Triforce. But he will ask for it anyway, because it's been offered to him on a silver plate. Instead, feel free to do whatever. If Morla has no particular boon in mind for him, gaining the Sword of Demise would be particularly cool.

POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: Not really sure. Possibly a mirror portal to step from his room to his workshop in Caer Glaem? Or whatever you want to do with anything like that. I leave it open past that.

Just somewhere that'd be good for them to kind of hide away for a while, especially with what's happening with the third courts and so on.
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: Thaaat might be super awkward, in which case wildcard would be fine!

POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: Because he's a winter spirit, it's probably not really possible for him to actually be warmer, but it could be something a little varied from what he's asking for such as an item that adds a little more resistance to higher temperatures, since he can't stay in hot places for too long.

POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: Leo is mostly asking to be a little shit since he doesn't think the monarchs can make it happen. But if possible, I'd like it to work via magic, unless Leo takes it into the Station - sort of the reverse of how regular technology works in the Drabwurld (all the better to frustrate him with). What he really needs is a better weapon than just a three-pound hammer, and I'd prefer it to be a tool of some sort rather than a conventional weapon like a sword or a spear, Leo being a mechanic and all, hence chainsaw.

POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: Like with Waver's iteration of the blob-shaped mercury buddy, I think I'd like it with just automated defense mode and no attack mode right now! I do intend for Kayneth's VH to be different from Waver's, so if you'd like to have fun with Pimp My Blob: Archibald Edition and give it some weird quirks right off the bat, we've decided that Kayneth's VH is going to be more animal-like and less humanoid. I don't have any immediate preferences for weird quirks, so whatever is fine! As is just defense mode, obviously.

POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: I'M 100% SURE THE SHARDS' POWERS DON'T WORK THAT WAY, so uhh wildcarding would be awesome! i tend to shy away from teleportation/travel boons (faerie rings are totally different) because korra likes making use of naga and appa, but other than that, she'll accept anything the monarchs feel she's worthy of. WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS: more animals to add to the avatar zoo.

POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: Staff and monthly funding can be provided, as well as a house, and that should be enough. Initial setup (house repair, purchase of supplies and equipment, acquiring overflow from other orphanages) can be done by Sigrid with the help of her staff and fairies. It's really up to you how much the monarchs supply, obviously.

POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: Ultimately what Ryan ideally means is he wants to be quick and able to strike without warning after the catastrophe that was the moon plot. However, what I would like is for him to obtain lightning magic/powers in order to teach him that he needs to be careful what he asks for :| Especially with his water powers. As part of his character growth, mostly. Let me know if this needs further alternation. Thank you!

BOON REQUEST: She'll be upset at the restrictions the faeries told her and say "Whatever your rules are, I do not care. I want to see my children."
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: Wording is tricky at the best of times, especially when talking to the sidhe, and it's never a good idea to be so vague. Grainne knows better, but she wanted to see what they would do with such a request. Maybe something like a magic photograph.

BOON REQUEST: A gift, eh? Well, if there's anything I could use here, it's a weapon. See this? It's a gun. You don't fancy that type around here, but it's the only thing I can use. I'm not interested in learning how to fire a bow, swing an ax, or anything else like that, and I don't feel the need to toss magic around like a bloomin' fairy. But if I could have something like this that I could use a little more regular.. something that I wouldn't have no use for when I ran out of bullets.. that would be useful. Or enchant my .45 if you'd like. I still want to travel light.
