DECEMBER CALENDAR OF EVENTS

Hey, fairybros! November has been an unexpectedly big month, and with hope, December will give us plenty of time to recuperate! Firstly, we'd like to apologize to the player base again about the application cap, and assure you that we're proceeding at speed to try and rectify the issues which have given rise to it!

On that note, please expect a Lesser NPC Application to be released later in the month with a formal announcement! Without going into too much detail, this will be an application by which players can access a newly-made NPCing account, so that they can play for their fellow players: villagers, enemy soldiers in battles, monsters in quests, and etc. The notification announcement will go into greater detail, but the application will be thorough, and use of the account will likely necessitate a small amount of record-keeping on the behalf of users, as well as recorded reviews by those who interact with it.

We got so slammed that the Quest Requests system was not opened for a second time last month: instead, expect it to be open again before the 5th is out! We will also be using this time to touch base with questing individuals from the last round, and to update relevant lists and rosters.

As a final heads up, pending some plot events, there may be some updates on the Calendar within the next 1 to 3 days, and the mod team will likely still be varying degrees of slow until after the New Year! Wishing you all the best and without more ado...

The White Hart Hunt GENRE: MAGICAL/ADVENTURE | DURATION: 01-14 December

SUMMARY Time to hunt! An easy event for December. With the first sighting reported with the snow which came on the night before the first, handwaved proclamations are released to both courts bidding shardbearers to hunt the White Hart, the King of Beasts! Those who research the White Hart are likely to find that he is the brother of the Black Shuck, and allows himself to be caught and killed once a year in these winter months, only to return to the world the following year in an endless cycle of renewal. The White Hart is cunning and easily able to flee most pursuers, though if the hunter is a poor one he may teach them a lesson about pursuing dangerous quarry, creeping close when they're unaware to transform them into a woodland creature for 7 days. The mod team will allow one Seelie and one Unseelie shardbearer to slay the White Hart: nominate yourself, stating your character, court, and why you think your character deserves the win! The mod team will allow nominations for 24 hours before releasing a poll to the community at large.

This will be another event lacking a mod post, leaving players free to plan at their discretion.


Since this is not a mass event, players are encouraged to plan and plot among themselves, and set up their own logs as appropriate!

MONTHLY OVERVIEW

01st DECEMBER (01am IC) • EVENT START. The White Hart has been sighted, and shardbearers bid to hunt him!
03rd DECEMBER • DANGEROUS RUMOURS. Word penetrates the courts that Reynard the Fox has become the figurehead of a stirring anti-shardbearer movement among the natives! A few shardbearers out in the more populous cities may hear cries of 'Go home!' alongside the usual fearful and respectful obeisances. Images of a winking fox face on signs, buildings, and wild rock edifices will multiply throughout the month.
05th DECEMBER • QUEST REQUESTS OPEN!
10th DECEMBER (00:01am LONDON GMT) • The boon request post goes up on the OOC community. You will be asked to state your character's request and link to proof of having participated in the event. Mods will be around to approve or deny these.
12th DECEMBER • A NEW KING OF BIRDS. The Roc has defeated its challengers and become the new King of Birds! Those who speak the tongues of birds will swiftly be informed this, and be warned that winter will be full of storms grown by this wrathful king.
14th DECEMBER • EVENT CLOSES.
15th DECEMBER • Approved or altered, boons are ICLY received today when characters wake up.
16th DECEMBER (00:01am LONDON GMT) • Boon requests close!
19th DECEMBER • Winter Party at the Barrel: The Barrel will be hosting a winter holiday party beginning at sunset, in recognition of Yule. A bonfire will be had, in addition to food and chances for those in both courts to come together.
21st DECEMBER • YULE BEGINS. One of the eight festivals of the drabwurld, this one is celebrated by the burning of a giant log in the courtyard of each castle, an abundance of wassail, mead, and mulled wine, carols being sung by night. The theme is one of reflection on the past year, and in the castles, the longstanding tradition is for groups of friends and family to make and sing a carol featuring the highs and lows one has experienced.
01st JANUARY (00:01am LONDON GMT) NEW CALENDAR OF EVENTS.

The next Calendar of Events post will go up to cover all of January. Weather for this month will be bursts of snows, growing deeper and longer toward the end of the month. Nights and early mornings will be the coldest yet in the year. Please feel free to use this as a plotting post. Junpei will try and go hunting on one of the first few days, but soon decide that it is too damn cold and that his horse must actually want to eat him because she keeps biting him??? (in horse's defense, she is actually preventing him from wandering into super serious trouble most of the time.) and he'll decide that all this woods and hunting stuff is Not For Him and hang out at caer scima where there's fireplaces and stuff.

about halfway through the event, he's going to fuck off to go find his friend in the woods, though, and if anyone would like to have him be... mistaken for something to be hunted that would be hilarious.

i would like for him to have to summon his persona, though, in view of another person. because reasons.

Waver Velvet/Lord El Melloi II

Waver will likely head out for a day or two, and will be very happy to pass along information on any sightings that come through his establishment or over the lockets! He's got a lot on his plate right now though.

PETER & KIEREN.

Peter will absolutely be 100% hunting the heck out of the White Hart. He will see this thru 2 the end, come ice or snow AND WIND. He will be so stoked. So stoked. He will also not mind hunting with other people (read: sweet summer children Ariadne and Malia) but will probably drop them if he thinks he can win the thing.

Not hunting at all. Will probably be heading to the station for the Christmas period, where he will party with Jack and Hiccup. He will 100% be inviting his super buddies aka maze runner kids and cassie!!

Jack won't bother with the hunting at all. Because winter is ~Jack Frost season~ so most of his focuses this month will be doing everything in regards to snowball fights, sledding, ice skating, basically all degrees of fun in the cold.

Mostly, he'll be around the Station for party tmes, but he'll travel back and forth across the map to keep those flurries constantly going. SO IF YOU WANNA GET AWAY FROM HUNTING AND DO FUN THINGS, hang out with Jack. He'll also be at the Barrel party snowing it up for everyone there too. /o/

Lancelot (seelie);

If anyone wants a hunting companion Lancelot will go out of pure obligation, but he will be stressed and tense the entire time and probably not the chattiest.

But, he's been practising with his magical mysterious glowing bow so he can help anyone who needs a little teaching!

Emil

Okay so Ratatosk will be all over hunting White Hart. He'll research it enough to find out he's a very powerful creature around here and that means Ratatosk wants to kill and then make a pact with him. Yeah. SO WHO IS UP FOR SOME HUNTING because he is going to be out there a lot.

He'll not take too kindly to fellow hunters but he might teach the more helpless ones how to at least track prey and stuff because god you people are weaklings etc insert more insults.

Meanwhile whenever he's not out Emil will. Not really be interested in this. Even though he knows he should try to do it, he doesn't see why they should kill this creature. He'll still go out and try on his own but probably suck at it and mostly end up enjoying the snow and finding his way to the Station to be AMAZED AT EVERYTHING.

dorian gray (seelie)

Dorian is a fabulous shooter and a great huntsman, so he would go along with people if they want to go and won't actually argue about the hunting, but at the end of the day he hates hunting and will refrain from taking a shot. The boy just doesn't like killing animals! Hunting parties? Yes. Actual hunting? No.

He is, on the other hand, likely to be very much involved in going to both of those parties. That is at least something he can sign onto readily!

Dave (Seelie)

This dork here will spend his first days in the castle doing three things: getting all the info he can from the library, getting hang of his magic again in private and learn how to ride a freaking horse. If someone actually in the Seelie wants to teach him how to ride or find him in the library like a hermit and maybe play out a silly log about that, let me know!

He does want to see the White Hart, and also use the excuse of an event to start exploring a bit. He'll try the woods near the castle but won't go farther alone. If groups/parties are formed he'll join them! We can plot something if anyone is in need of magic users.

Later in the month he'll hit the station for a touch of home, expect some network post about that (he doesn't like the fact people break machines ok, instructions are coming for everyone!). Usually he isn't a fan of parties but missing home and hearing about a neutral place will take him to the celebrations after all (that is, if someone can play taxi for him).

Also he'll take the rings sign too seriously and will be leaving cakes for the fairies. Please don't eat those.

Ryan (seelie)

SO. In an effort to better himself Ryan is going to join the hunt for the White Hart, but the problem with that is that he still isn't that fantastic of a hunter and most likely will end up being caught off-guard after a few days, at which point he'll either disappear to go hang out somewhere else away from the craziness orrrr spend a week as a rabbit or something. I haven't quite decided though I wouldn't be opposed to the latter versus him just giving up and taking off after a few days.

Additionally, this is a chance for him to use his fancy new flower crown boon which helps make him invisible for up to an hour. Thanks to that he'll probably be sneaking around for a bit and wielding his sword to help with the hunt.

elsa ❄ malia ❄ rachel ❄ teresa

MALIA TATE will be tiptoeing around and tracking the Big Deer as a coyote, mostly because she's a better hunter as a coyote, yerp. but she might bop back and forth between human and coyote, sure. I don't think she'll be actively looking to team up with anyone, but it could happen. Maybe Peter, maybe Jon Snow??, maybe anyone else that has an ~animalistic side~ or you know whatever.
ELSA is either going to be making snow model decoys of the Hart just cause she can, but I don't think she'll be hunting it down, exactly. well. maybe. or maybe she'll make a snow monster to do the hunting for her, and feel bad about it later. either way, if someone's looking for a team mate that won't try and kill steal, but would still be a good help, she's yer gal. otherwise she'll be doing her part to make everything magically wintery.
RACHEL ELIZABETH DARE will be making "LET THE WHITE HART LIVE!" picket signs, okok. no but really she's never going to hunt anything ever so she'll be seeking out Happy Winter Fun Times more than anything else. maybe at the station. yus. request: i'll also be requesting a quest for her this month! anyway, this is mostly a shoutout to castmates since she'd go to them first, but if you want to team up for that, let me know!
TERESA also has no interest in hunting, so she'll be hanging out with Kieren and maybe Thomas and Minho, unless they're hunting, but right. yus. hanging out at the Station, for sure. someone teach her how to have holiday cheer. cause right now i don't think she even knows what holidays are.

Beatrix and Lumina

General Beatrix will probably be taking a few of the soldiers she's training out into the field to use hunting for the White Hart as a training exercise. She'll be anywhere between Caer Scima and Mair during that time, and could run into anyone! Or people could tag along with her on the hunting trip, as they like? Or she could wind up tagging along on someone else's. I'm open for anything here!

I'm still considering whether or not I'll throw her in for a chance at winning.

Lumina will probably go out and randomly wander around in the forest for an hour or two before she gets bored and goes back home. She can bump into anyone anywhere, really, or if interesting people go hunting she might tag along until she gets bored! She also cannot lie right now, so that should be entertaining for talking to people!

Saralegui

ffffff yeah right as if sara would be doing this event. hunting isn't his thing at all, and he's got too much on his plate with redgate right now to be running off into the woods after a deer. but the city is open to anyone who might need a place to chill and rest if they're in the area while hunting, and between reynard's bullshit and kaldur sticking around to stand trial and whatnot, there's a decent but going down in redgate this month!

OH RIGHT YULE yeah there's no such holidays where he comes from, but he seriously needs a break and he's wanted to visit the Barrel since it opened anyway, so he'll definitely be going to that.

Hunt: I don't have anything planned for this as of the present moment but that could change. Though Mordred may try her hand at hunting for a bit as a part of trying to find herself after her little talk with Arturia left her a bit bitter about her life's direction.

Quests: I'd like to try one! If anyone needs a rebellious teenager for a group I'm all for tossing Mordred in anywhere she is needed.

Yule: At some point I'd like Mordred to finally take that damn helmet of hers off and this seems as good a place as any with the courts mingling and such. Aside from that, Mordred will likely try her best to be social and act the role of a proper knight.

Pod (and Kiga)

Pod is going to go haring off into the woods after the White Hart. But to leave him an offering, and to heal all the animals that escape from other hunters with injuries.

Anyone want to run into a tiny teenage girl and a big, handsome wolverine in the woods? She'll share her food (Kiga will mostly be hunting rabbits and the like, but a deer caught in a snowdrift is fair game) and her fire with all comers!

Flora

Flora's fine with hunting for food but she's probably against hunting for sport on principle BUT realises this is a tradition and the white hart'll be fine so w/e. She's knowledgeable about animals and their habits, and excellent with tracking because fairy crap, so at most I think she'd try to tag it non lethally for the challenge of it, but wouldn't go for the kill.

She'll probably also like dick around with the snow or go chill with friends, because November was a pretty crappy month.

She's been defaulting to her ice powers ever since it got cold, so who wants to make an actual winter wonderland? or have snowball fights she's not kidding she is going to have fun this month if it kills her

BEN & EFFY

Ben will not be hunting the White Hart, not only because he's pretty crap at hunting, but also because he doesn't want to go out of his way to kill an animal of such stature (despite it being a tradition). HOWEVER, he will accompany someone (probably cr?? it'd be hard for him to go out of his way otherwise) throughout the hunt just for the sake of a buddy system, along with providing some backup (healing wise) in case something is to happen. nobody needs to get fatally hurt ok.

Effy however, is going to get a little involved and attempt to go hunting??? she mostly just wants a boon and that's her only motivation. She'll gather as much info as she can and use it to her advantage, and maybe even give out some info she's learned (for a price). She's most likely going to get discouraged at some point and just be like fuuuCK THAT since things in the woods are Not Cool and she doesn't feel like having to run away from any crazy things there wow

Mer is travelling with Angus and her tag along imp, so it's very likely that she'll spot the White Hart while on her travels screams another edit to her open log. Anyone is welcome to run into her while they're hunting themselves :3 though expect fierce competition and she's always up for being a hunting companion or having a hunting companion herself

also she'll likely be heading to the Barrel for Yule because one of her friends probably told her about the party there :v and get drunk because that's what Scots do there is no drinking age in medieval Scotland lbr

PERCY JACKSON

Percy will likely be attached at the hip with Annabeth, but I also believe he'll be trying to wrangle Thalia, Luke, and Clarisse into camping + hunting as well.

So this is more of a "if you want to run into Percy along the way or find his group for campfire stories please do" type comment. uwu Either way!! I'd like to further old CR + start on new CR as well, so I'm pretty open to anything. c:

Am I doing this right...I want to participate! Shijima might not bother at first, but she'll be interested to go and observe, and then when they're hunting something she'll actually probably give it a go...although she'd hunt on foot with her "claws". She may slip into her cat form at times, though. She doesn't know anyone well enough to really be part of a group, but she'll probably nebulously observe everyone who goes more than she will participate on the whole.

edit: For later on in the month, she does actually understand animals by virtue of being one so she will probably notice the king of birds thing, although her general reaction will be "whatever".

iorveth, morgana, robb.

Iorveth will be going hunting, he has very little else to do and it's a great opportunity to sharpen his skills!!!! So he'll be in the woods, in the trees, maybe dropping stuff on people's heads "accidentally" whoops, generally wherever the stag may or may not have been sighted. He'll be following tracks a lot.

Morgana is just gonna... chill. She could join in the hunt but she won't. Gonna keep to her fire and her wine, thanks.

Robb won't be involved in the hunt either, HE WILL BE TOO BUSY TRYING TO GET TO HIS FAMILY!! Once he discovers where they all are. He'll be making a network post about this soon.

Hunting is not quite his thing, so unless anyone wants to drag Eren out to do so, he'll be minding his own business elsewhere. As of right now I've got nothing on (though I did just toss up a post if anyone wants in on that), which means I'm super flexible for anything, in case anyone wanted Eren for any reason! Otherwise I'll likely just see what goes up and tag into stuff.

Winter party sounds cute and fun... so again if anyone feels like dragging this guy along because he's too allergic to fun to do it on his own, feel free. If not, I'll try to think of an excuse to go. Or something. He doesn't have Christmas or anything like that where he's from, but a couple of people did tell him what it is. Sort of.

Saber Alter

Saber is hunting the White Hart old style without using her special Servant stuff. She would love a hunting companion and will be hunting in the Maupertius area. Member of either court are welcome.

She will also be at The Barrel for the Yule party. And probably drunk.

Loras & Vanessa

Loras

Loras will be out hunting, and having a good time with his little Westeros bros. And by bros, I mean boyfriend/brother-in-law and sister.

As I said above, Loras really doesn't like losing. And while he probably isn't worthy of winning the hunt, he will probably try to fuck people over in the process.

Though he wouldn't call it 'fucking over' or 'cheating'. It's more 'creative thinking that gives him an advantage'. It's just the people he goes up against who think otherwise :3

...which means I'm thinking seriously of turning him into a woodland creature, if he doesn't get the vote to kill the Stag. Probably a unicorn.

Vanessa

Is more curious about the forest than hunting. She doesn't have any skills in such things, and will most likely pull back after a few days. This will make it abundantly clear that she needs to learn how to fight, so will be looking in to doing that, though.
