JULY CALENDAR
Hey, fairybros! Welcome all to July! The mod team has for the most part settled in after the transition, in no small part thanks to your consideration and helpfulness during the time.
QUESTS
As of this month, we will be initiating a new quest system! Quest-givers are asked to give out a maximum of six stars of quests per month, and over two months, quest-givers are further asked to give our six stars in total related to objectives that connect to the meta-plot. Thus, over two months, they have 12 stars to give out, and half must be for the meta-plot objectives. More details are here.
Currently, quest boards on the quests requests page are for June quests! We will be posting the July/August quest boards to the comms on July 1st, so quest-givers, please continue to PM us your boards!

SUMMARY The Banshee's scream is a herald. Her cry is a warning of death. Those who hear it in the night are filled with terror, for they know: the Shuck will not be far behind.
But there is a greater terror in this silence that sweeps across the land. No one is hearing the cry of the banshee, no one is heralding. The garments of the bean nighe are left along the riverbeds, the clothes of the slain left blood-stained and seeping into rocks and grass. The caoineag makes eye contact and opens her mouth, but no scream ushers forth from her lips. Death comes silent.
At midnight, as both Monarchs close the doors of their audience halls, a paw sets itself against the door. They move aside. The Shuck himself strides into the halls and stops before the Monarchs. With open jaw, he proclaims his will to both of them: his banshees must be saved. Both courts will set aside their weapons to do this, for he will not permit them to bring more death while death itself remains unbalanced. Those who remain in the hall may notice the wagging of his great tail.
So the proclamation is made there, in public view: Shardbearers are to aid the Shuck, by the Monarchs' command. They are not to turn their weapons on one another but to seek out the Banshee who have lost their voices and work to return to them their screams. The Shuck offers only one guiding point to the method: Banshees once lived.
Shardbearers will find that if they approach banshees on craigs or by rivers, they may hear whispers in the babbling of water or the rustling of wind through grass and leaves. These whispers will tell stories of the former lives of the banshees, telling who they were when they lived and how they came to die. Should a Shardbearer seek out some token of the banshee's former lives and return it to them, the banshee's voice will return, if only for a moment, in releasing a shrieking offering of thanks before vanishing.
Those who wish to speak to the Shuck must travel to Quendi itself to meet with him, but he will not be patient with visitors. He sits at the central throne room and will not leave.

Only individuals who complete at least 1,000 words of logging in each of the July and August events will be eligible for boons for August! Quest logs will not count toward this event.
MONTHLY OVERVIEW
The next Calendar of Events post will go up toward the end of July/start of August to cover all of August. Weather will consist primarily of sunny skies. Fewer breezes are coming, with more frequent harsh summer storms. There is increased flower growth across the map, and weather will be warmer.
10th JULY • TEST DRIVE MEME.
16th JULY • MONARCH AUDIENCE.
17th JULY • EVENT STARTS: The Banshee are silent, and Shardbearers are sent to give them back voice.
20th JULY (00:01am LONDON GMT) • RESERVES OPEN.
24th JULY (00:01am LONDON GMT) • APPS OPEN.
25th JULY (00:01am LONDON GMT) • RESERVES END. FFA BEGINS.
29th JULY • EVENT CLOSES. As of midnight, the Banshee that have been saved will remain in the world. Those who have not vanish from it.
30th JULY • All the banshee whose voices have been returned to them wail at once. Anyone near Quendi will be greeted with a surprise. More details to be released later.
01st AUGUST (00:01am LONDON GMT) • APPS CLOSE.
Rider (Ramesses) | Mami
Ramesses is going to be dedicating a lot of effort to this one for a few reasons. The way his people view death in a cultural context means he's going to be pretty much disturbed that the death cycle has been interrupted and will do everything he can to help fix it before Bad Things can come of it. He also has a very soft spot for women in general, which will influence him to assist on a more personal level. He'll be starting out in Leathann and will be moving outward from there, though I don't have any set plans on where else he'll end up at the moment. He will be bringing his Sphynx out for this to make travel that much faster, so if it was ever your character's dream to ride a Pharaoh's pet Egyptian deathbeast monster now's your opportunity, I guess. :|a He will be intending to pay his respects to the Shuck at some point late in his journey because again, very religious, death such wow.
Mami will not be trying to cover as much ground, figuratively or literally. She'll be trying to help as many of the Banshee women as she can, because she believes it is the Right Thing To Do, but she'll have more of a struggle with it than Ramesses will. They're going to remind her of Wraiths, but as Mami comes from Rebellion, she doesn't actually remember what Wraiths are, so that's going to mess with her head some. I'd very much like to get a group effort of some sort going for her, because while she's very competent alone, she doesn't do so well mentally without others around her.
