Boon Requests

Hey, guys! Boon Requests are up, which means the fairies and imps are out and about bothering people to note down the number one item on their wishlist again! Only the fairies or imps from YOUR faction will be turning up, as usual, but they will be noting down all the ways you helped heal or slay the Ainsels and feral imps ... and where. This is echoed in the C&P box below for you to fill in and will tie into next month's event in a very exciting way!

Wherever Shard-holder characters are in the Drabwurld, at some point today they will be approached by fairies or imps, depending on their alignment, bearing a piece of parchment and a quill. They will urge your character to write down a request for an item, power or favour from their monarchs in exchange for fighting or supporting their faction and they will take it away through a fairy-ring when it is written. There are three easy rules your character will be informed MUST NOT be broken:

1) "Do not call for time and space to be bent to your will!"
2) "You may not request another's true love or devotion!"
3) "Ask not for a road home or the loved ones whence you came!"

Essentially, the OOC boundaries relayed through IC means to your character are to avoid game-breaking demands being made. They will be approved, altered or denied here so that when your character receives their boon on the morning of 23rd June (you can pick any time for them to be delivered/show up) no matter where they are there is no fuss, no muss! The royal audiences are bi-monthly and the second is due to be held on the 23rd too, which the fairies and imps will also be informing people. Feel free to link to any threads (completed or ongoing) that will qualify for a boon.

BOON REQUEST: Waver would appreciate some good chemistry equipment (especially glassware), and some safety gear. He's starting to worry about not having proper safety glasses on while working, all things considered.

There, he will find a fully-stocked medieval apothecary has been assigned to him and his name engraved on the door. If you'd like to handwave what some of the ingredients are (magical or poisonous, healing etc) that's absolutely fine.

NUMBER OF HEALED FAIRIES/SLAIN IMPS: Several fairies (or at least one) healed, two imps slain. Fairies healed depended on how many people she ran into in the hallways, but it's safe to say she healed at least two. If that has to be played out, one will suffice.

BOON REQUEST: Several fairy assistants to help her in her work for the Stark family, currently clerical and later as handmaiden to Sansa.

BOON REQUEST: Surprise me! All he'd ask for is something fitting a king.

On the morning of the 23rd, Joffrey will find a golden basket in his chambers. Upon the red velvet bed will be a baby lion cub, golden of mane, for him to train. There will be a note from High-Queen Morla:

My Dearest Young King Joffrey,

You were very brave in felling the sickly imps! I noticed this, busy though I am, and have brought you a special gift from a long way away. He is very loyal, fierce and clever! If you wish to teach him a few commands, your lion will understand you. Feed him well and he will grow big and strong, just as I wish for you to flourish while one of my Unseelie.

He also enjoys drinking wine.

BOON REQUEST: A magically warded room for Stiles to practice his magic in. Something that's set up like an alchemical lab for him w/shelves and trinkets and trunks and whatnot that will be where all his magical stuff appears from then on; books, potions/supplies, cool little beaker sets, ingredients... Somewhere that's fully warded from having any of his magic leak out or have any effect past the wards so he has somewhere he knows is safe to practice and make bubbly potions. (I would also love it if he could have some sort of stupid wizard's cloak. No magic, just for swooshing.)
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: More books/another level up for him w/magic, but honestly, I'd really love somewhere in the castle that's his alchemy/spell room.

NUMBER OF HEALED FAIRIES/SLAIN IMPS: A few! She healed/stunned a few and managed to shove a bezoar down one and helped keep another incarcerated. Not a huge number but enough that she feels like she did some good.

BOON REQUEST: Hermione would like some Floo Powder, if possible, and if she's allowed some HP-canon potion supplies so she can start making potions for people she would super appreciate that, too.
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: If the above doesn't work a set of canon books plus permission to visit the Seelie Restricted Area would please her!

She will also be granted access to the Restricted Section of the Seelie library, and three books (of your choice) from home.

NUMBER OF HEALED FAIRIES/SLAIN IMPS: About half a dozen or more. One imp was burnt to death in that thread, more followed the first as Morgana has no patience for things that get in her way. Which they did, a lot.

BOON REQUEST: Aithusa, a dragon from Morgana's world. One that she has a great deal of affection for and is still fairly poorly due to the damage done throughout the two years both Morgana and Aithusa spent locked in a small pit. Morgana wishes her to be safe and thinks perhaps the magics of this land will aid in Aithusa's recovery.
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: I am open to anything.

NUMBER OF HEALED FAIRIES/SLAIN IMPS: Any that came across her path were killed, so I'm going to say at least forty to fifty imps + fairies died by her hands and she assisted in killing others, mainly imps.
LOCATION OF HEALED FAIRIES/SLAIN IMPS: In the area of La Llorona, both outside and within the forest.
BOON REQUEST: The power to teleport her and Angelina Durless to Caer Glaem and to bring Grell herself back to Caer Scima.
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: It's fine to make it a one way trip, or something that can only take one person there--Grell will then send Angelina with it--or anything else you wish.

I've cleared this with Angelina's player before asking about it!

Grell will be greeted by an imp on the 23rd who will create a fairy ring for herself and Angelina to transport outside of Caer Glaem's walls. It will wait for them as directed until they wish to come back, when it will open another fairy ring. As a side-note, it can only open one ring there and back again given the intrusion into enemy territory.

NUMBER OF HEALED FAIRIES/SLAIN IMPS: Gendry helped Sansa with a fairy above (though she got credit and the Gold Mine bonus), but he slayed a fair number of imps as they continued south. Probably six or so. One of them bit him!
LOCATION OF HEALED FAIRIES/SLAIN IMPS: About two/three weeks south of Caer Scima, so in La Llarona.
BOON REQUEST: Gendry would like enough Valyrian Steel and the knowledge of the spells required to work it.
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: So working Valyrian steel is a rare craft in his world, but one his master Tobho Mott possessed. So what Gendry wants is just to be able to reforge Valyrian steel, not actually create the alloy for it. (I would ask for that, but that's headcanon I'd not want to get into.) Now, how this knowledge gets to him is up to you! Gendry can't read, so if it ends up being scrolls or whatever, that's fine, though it will take him longer to be able to put it to use. So I'm pretty cool with whatever.

On the morning of the 23rd Gendry will be approached by a beautiful naked dryad. She will give him a scroll with written instructions by the dwarf-lords in Troichean Beinn on how to reforge Valyrian steel. He will also be relayed an official long-standing invite to the dwarven kingdom courtesy of their king, if he wishes to learn more of his craft in the future first-hand without the fuss of reading anything, for theirs are the finest masters of metal in all the Six Realms and they believe learning with ones own hands beats anything. They hate the imps of Caer Scima very much and were informed by High-Queen Solais of how Gendry slew them, following his boon request.

He will also receive a really nice hat to keep the rain off while travelling in the future.

BOON REQUEST: sansa's request is simple, sad, and sincere: i want hair like my mother's once again. that is, her hair is currently dyed a deep chestnut colour for her 'alayne stone' identity, and with her father now in caer glaem she is prepared to let that identity go. that and she's worried dad will be sad when he reunites with her and she doesn't look like she's supposed to.
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: this is a pretty underpowered request as boons go so i figure there's nothing too awkward about it. thanks!

NUMBER OF HEALED FAIRIES/SLAIN IMPS: In the thread above he's just arriving to see Sigrid already took care of a fairy. It's implied he already shot one imp. He probably sniped a few others all about Caer Glaem and lulled a fairy to sleep.
LOCATION OF HEALED FAIRIES/SLAIN IMPS: All around Caer Glaem. Some of the imps he would have been picking off from the ramparts.
BOON REQUEST: A picture of Teresa Moreno, the recently deceased wife of Richard Sharpe.
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: Harper is just expecting like an artist's impression, but a straight up photograph is fine too. Put it in a frame or even a locket, whatever is fine. It's a gift for Sharpe.

LOCATION OF HEALED FAIRIES/SLAIN IMPS: La Llorona forest, about a week or so ride south of Caer Scima
BOON REQUEST: Permission to claim a fortress/castle either in enemy territory or along the border in the name of the High King and Queen.
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: This is basically just Ganondorf doing some good old fashioned brown nosing. He has no special need of anything from the Unseelie right now, so he's just asking for something he'd take anyway. So basically, do whatever you like with that.

Ganondorf will gain permission to be transported via fairy-ring, with his forces, to Mair. This city has been taken by Seelie and Unseelie alike many times, and is now very neutral and relaxed in setting; he can settle down here if he wishes and claim it in the name of Morla, fortifying the old castle as it once was. It is highly unlikely to be well-defended and is supported by the fields/crops of the surrounding lands along the borders of Dorchadas and Glaschu.

He will also receive a really nice new pair of boots.

NUMBER OF HEALED FAIRIES/SLAIN IMPS: Like a million Zero healed and probably dozens killed. He was hunting them because they were fun to shoot, so yeah, lots.

BOON REQUEST: He's going to ask for a 'gun that will work outside the Station.' This could be a crappy pistol with no ammo or bow and arrow. He'll be mad about it no matter what, so hit me.
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: A decent sword! Technically there isn't canon to support it, but one can assume protheans used swords at one point in their ancient history, so one of those would be ideal. (I may ask for this later if the alteration isn't used!)

Javik will receive a brand new crossbow carved from a tree inside the Station. The bark of this will have grown fortified on fairy magic and it will fire rapidly once its user is fully trained in its use. It will never run out of arrows and magically replenish itself after every shot.

He will also receive a fancy brand new long-sword, complete with sheath and harness to wear on his back.

Gale will receive an invitation to the armoury to select whichever brand new weapon he pleases (fully stocked with a quiver if a crossbow/bow or complete with a sheath if a blade, etc). The smithy will then request his presence so they can measure him for his own suit of armour in whichever design he wishes, as heavy or light as you feel he would prefer.

It will be maintained by an old imp who will sometimes leave sheets of fairy-music lying around for Elliot to try out. In the ante-room will be a stained glass window, in a design of your choice, which will change colour as he plays the piano.

BOON REQUEST: "Your Highnesses, the only boon I will ask is for information, please. In the Seelie court is a woman I know from home and she's come here about six months before I did, but I never noticed her gone and I'm sure if she'd been put back exactly when she'd been taken, she'd have mentioned the experience. Was she replaced with a changeling? Have I been replaced with one?"

On the morning of the 23rd, a mewing noise will come from the foot of Arya's bed. There, cold and sickly, will be a kitten. Next to it will be a note from High-Queen Solais:

Good morning, Arya! I have a gift for you!

This kitten was transformed from the soul of a little girl last night, far away in the woods of the evil old witch Habetrot. The little girl was your age and can never return to her original state, now a normal cat forever. As you can see, the spell was very cruel and left her very weak! I heard her last dying prayer to me and was able to spirit her away, but too late!

Please take care of this little one for me as I am too busy to do so. She will love you dearly, of that I am sure, and once had a very brave heart when she was a child. Help her! Love her!

BOON ALTERATION

Ariadne will not be able to make fairy rings as this ability belongs solely to the fairies, imps and monarchs. She will, however, be granted a magical scroll with the incantation necessary for her to walk through shadows from one place to another: Dubharan. For example, if she walked into a shadow in a corner of her room, she could will herself out of a shadow in the courtyard. This ability will own a range of several hundred metres for the time being and can be strengthened/expanded upon by future boon requests.
