BOON REQUESTS

A little late, but it's boon time! Requests are up, which means the fairies and imps are out and about bothering people from their respective factions to note down the number one item on their wishlist again!


Wherever Shard-holder characters are in the Drabwurld, at some point today they will be approached by fairies or imps, depending on their alignment, bearing a piece of parchment and a quill. They will urge your character to write down a request for an item, power or favour from their monarchs in exchange for fighting or supporting their faction and they will take it away through a fairy-ring when it is written. There are three easy rules your character will be informed MUST NOT be broken:

1) "Do not call for time and space to be bent to your will!"
2) "You may not request another's true love or devotion!"
3) "Ask not for a road home or the loved ones whence you came!"

Essentially, the OOC boundaries relayed through IC means to your character are to avoid game-breaking demands being made. They will be approved, altered or denied here until 24th AUGUST (00:01am LONDON GMT) so that when your character receives their boon on the morning of 25th (you can pick any time for them to be delivered/show up) no matter where they are there is no fuss, no muss! The royal audiences are bi-monthly and the third is due to be held near October, which the fairies and imps will also be informing people. This month, everybody who managed to slay one of the shadow-beasties gets a boon! Feel free to link to any threads (completed or ongoing) that will show your character getting involved in the event this month. Simply C&P the below into your comment:

If your character doesn't want to request a boon they may simply wave away the fairies/imps. It is not possible to "save up" Boon Requests for later events, so make sure to get yours in if you want one!

They'll inform him that she's been imprisoned somewhere in Treun for decades, though no one knows precisely where!

She'll be given a locket which contains a lock of hair which seems as though it might well be her brother's. Whenever she wears it and is in danger, a pale phantasm resembling him shall defend her, wordlessly, vanishing whenever danger has passed.

She'll ask who she might come to with questions about the area and its inhabitants.

He'll only bow and say that this should be negotiated with his master, not himself.

Treun, he'll admit, is an odd place, populatd primarily by the descendants of shardbearers past. Once a fair haven for folk, it is now suffering from interior political turmoil which he believes the Queen may mean for them to help resolve.

And though it's a girdle and girly, he'll wear it with pride and negl great relief! Do any modifications to it (if he wanted to make a belt for a sheath out of it for example, since it'd be a relatively small change and he wouldn't want to reforge it completely either) affect its nature?

She's going to thank him and ask about a crown-funded budget for travel expenses such as food and appropriate travel garments, gear, lodging for their stay in Treun, etc.

He'll unsuccessfully hide his amusement and inform her that he cannot say, as he too has no idea how many may yet be going; and the journey date not set for several weeks. Only that he imagines it would be appropriately lavish.

And she'll be in the library for the next few weeks, probably. Reading about the area and its history and traditions and interests. Diplomacy. Stuff.

IN THIS CASE, question number one will probably be a polite request for the fairies to explain as much as they can about what the paper is, exactly, and how it is intended to be used.

no its just that back on the '14th' or so kaldur got one of the books that had those messages in it so he told people he thought should know all privately-like

BOON REQUEST: Rika wants to learn magic to protect herself because she's tiny and vulnerable. She would specifically suggest that she'd be good at illusions and mental manipulation.
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: What she's angling for is the ability to induce hallucinations like her great^6 grandmother, but any form of magic training would be great. Darker or weird in general would be even better, and her personality lends herself more towards evasion than outright fighting.
