Boon Requests
Hey, guys! The Wild Edric event officially ended on the 19th (feel free to keep backtagging, of course!) and we're a day behind on tossing up the boon request post because RL plus Summer equals Hangovers, oops so this will run until 24TH MAY (00:01am LONDON GMT) instead of the 23RD. The tooth and sword were BOTH recovered by their respective sides!
Wherever Shard-holder characters are in the Drabwurld, at some point today they will be approached by fairies or imps, depending on their alignment, bearing a piece of parchment and a quill. They will urge your character to write down a request for an item, power or favour from their monarchs in exchange for fighting or supporting their faction and they will take it away through a fairy-ring when it is written. There are three easy rules your character will be informed MUST NOT be broken:

If your character doesn't want to request a boon they may simply wave away the fairies/imps. It is not possible to "save up" Boon Requests for later events, so make sure to get yours in if you want one!

1) "Do not call for time and space to be bent to your will!"Essentially, the OOC boundaries relayed through IC means to your character are to avoid game-breaking demands being made. They will be approved, altered or denied here so that when your character receives their boon on the morning of 25th May (00:01am LONDON GMT), no matter where they are, there is no fuss, no muss! The royal audiences are bi-monthly (to avoid clashing with apps opening!) so the next will be in June. Feel free to link to any threads (completed or ongoing) where support has been shown for your faction that will qualify for a boon.
2) "You may not request another's true love or devotion!"
3) "Ask not for a road home or the loved ones whence you came!"

BRIEF RUNDOWN OF CHARACTER INVOLVEMENT: sansa was involved with team green -- she wasn't any sort of medical savant, but she did bring water to the wounded, help ease their discomfort, and aimed to keep morale high at the support base. unfortunately her comment on the log received no replies and so i understand if this disqualifies her from a boon. i've included a post-event post as well, where she and gendry are now stranded because sansa ran and neglected to say the right words upon learning jaime lannister was in the area during the last day of the event.
BOON REQUEST: a horse -- she's not in the castle and so she will be asking for a horse to make her journey a little easier. presumably the horse will eventually turn up wherever she is on the map? ideally, it will be a strong palfrey or even a courser.
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: throw in a curveball if you like c: i like surprises.

BRIEF RUNDOWN OF CHARACTER INVOLVEMENT: Ganondorf is directing the assault on Caer Glaem. In one, he is simply watching something burn, in the second he's sparing a moment from the action to confer with Grell.
BOON REQUEST: He would like to be able to summon his own minions from Hyrule. This would be generic recurring foes, rather than boss-enemies.
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: This could be done to replace the twenty minions he's allowed to command already. Or he might only be able to summon lesser monsters without any sentience (octoroks vs. moblins). I would expect there to be a limit to how many he call, whether it's in terms of how many at one time or just being able to only call X amount now and no more until a future boon. I leave that to you!

Ganondorf will be informed that his request has been delivered.
He may summon to rise from the earth 30 Stalfos Knights at one time, each armed and armored, who will serve and follow his command until they are felled or he bids them return to the earth; but Ganondorf's own strength and focus will wane the more he summons. These soldiers are capable of only simple speech and reasoning. The skeletons which comprise them will clearly be those of enemies he himself has personally felled while away from his homeland, which he may discover upon inspecting the arms and armor they carry: the last they held in death. The skeletons he summons with this power will always comprise the most powerful enemies he has slain; therefore, as he kills more powerful enemies, their strength will be added to his repertoire.
These soldiers, being dead, are stronger and hardier than any truly living soldiers, and when commanded may all join their bodies to form a single entity: a bone dragon, flightless, but able to breathe great gouts of fire.

BRIEF RUNDOWN OF CHARACTER INVOLVEMENT: Hilda was in Team Green and maintained barriers around the camp to keep it safe and prevent monsters or Unseelie to invade it and disturb the wounded or those who couldn't fight. She also kept communication open with some people in other teams.
BOON REQUEST: Hilda would like to be granted the power to restore her dying homeworld, as High-Queen Solais promised her.
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: I do not know how such a power would manifest (her land is dying and covered in darkness because it lost the omnipotent artifact that kept it together). So it would probably manifest as some sort of healing or light power? Feel free to bring any modification to this power or even change it altogether if this doesn't work.

Sealed letter will clarify to Hilda that her homeworld cannot be restored without her presence; the war would need be won before it could be accomplished.
But Hilda will be delivered in a small, hand-sized carven ivory box a single ring, inset with a gem in the purple which is her colour. When she wears it, even the darkest shadows will be forced back, all that is green will grow lush, and very minor wounds may slowly begin to heal. Her focus will improve the strength of this power, which may extend several hundred meters from her person at its peak. Effects are slightly lingering, even after she departs, but will naturally fade.

BRIEF RUNDOWN OF CHARACTER INVOLVEMENT: The first shows him assaulting Caer Scima, only to run into battle with Jaime Lannister, which he'll be losing. The second is a post-event dual post that has him stuck in Unseelie territory due to a mishap with Sansa.
BOON REQUEST: A well-packed horse. Possibly a destrier or some form of warhorse suited for a knight.
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: He's far away from court, so hopefully it would arrive somewhere near him. He's hoping for it to come with saddlebags and canteens to ease their journey, hence 'well packed'. But that doesn't mean it has to have these things.

As with Sansa, Gendry will find a horse has been delivered to him by fairy ring; a tall buckskin warhorse, well-trained to commands of voice, leg, and rein. It will be outfitted with fine tack and black-and-gold barding emblazoned with a bulls-head motif.
It will have no saddlebags, but a simple leather traveling pack will also be delivered with rations, water, and blankets, fitted with metal rings which may be attached to the back of any practical saddle or slung across a shoulder.

BRIEF RUNDOWN OF CHARACTER INVOLVEMENT: Grey team strike team. Providing the muscle, skill, and some insight on how to approach the matter. He wouldn't care to take the leadership role, but he would have supported Clarisse and offered whatever counsel he saw fit. Beyond that, yeah, battle whatever orcs, orges and trolls that have tried attacking them.
BOON REQUEST: Help getting back to his father (or at least the Station) as soon as possible. :<
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: Get him some dead Quendi bodyguards. And maybe some sort of a steed to speed up...? If that's not too much.

A black courser will be waiting for Legolas. In place of the Quendi, there will be three dryads from Glaschu to guide him home and show him the best places to forage for berries and clean water in Dorchadas. They will also present him with trousers and a tunic made from finely tailored Greenwood leaves.
The dryads won't be able to fight his enemies, but they will give off a big-sisterly vibe in keeping him as safe as they can along the way.

BRIEF RUNDOWN OF CHARACTER INVOLVEMENT: Waver essentially spent his time on Team Stars mucking about the forest, occasionally misdirecting the occasional Seelie force he ran into away from the main camp, and trying to have a halfway decent bedside manner while cleaning up battle wounds. The latter definitely could use some work, but he managed to pitch a decent escape plan to Celegorm in case the worst happened and the Unseelie folks had to retreat on foot. It definitely involved using the location of golems to their advantage.
BOON REQUEST: Volumen Hydragyrum (ten litres of weaponized mercury)
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: Volumen Hydragyrum (VH), like everything else in Waver's canon is entertainingly overpowered, meaning I'm 100% cool with imposing limits on it. VH's attack mode essentially means it has razor sharp tentacles that can get everywhere, and it's defense mode makes it into a silvery nearly indestructible hamster ball (unless you can figure out it's hydrolics) Plus Waver has given it AI, so it can act as a personal assistant. Limiting VH's abilities to defense and personal assistant mode would be more than fine by me, if an overpowered murderblob seems a bit too much.

BRIEF RUNDOWN OF CHARACTER INVOLVEMENT: This is more of an after-affect talk and dealing with injuries during the Unseelie invasion into Caer Scima. It points out that Stiles at least ran into and dealt with a few Unseelie in defense of the castle, but he kind of sucks as a castle guard. Please don't make him do that again.
BOON REQUEST: I'd love to have a tome or two of magical books that have magic he'd be able to do delivered to him.
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: If he's unable to do fairy magic at the moment (since I'm not sure how the books/magic here works exactly in terms of 'is it something he can learn vs is it something he has to be born with', I'd like maybe a boost in him being able to use magic?

YER A WIZARD, STILINSKI.From the 25th Stiles will be infused with what will roughly equate to first-year magic of a Hogwarts student. Books to help him start honing a general mastery of new arts (simple transfiguration, potions, etc) are going to appear at the foot of his bed in a new chest, along with a wizard's staff to help him channel those abilities. You can either decide to have a wooden tool, Gandalf-style, or a fancier high-fantasy kind of your own choosing!

BRIEF RUNDOWN OF CHARACTER INVOLVEMENT:Basically Elincia was healer, occasional scout etc for team green. She defended the camp from any monster attacks, healed any wounded and generally made nice with her team mates. Oh and she captured a cleg with a lot of difficulty near the last day though I haven't been able to play that part out yet.
BOON REQUEST: She'll be writing down 'peace' but with enough staring down from the fairies, she'll eventually change it to 'whatever the queen wishes'.
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: Something that could ensure faster travel would be nice. Or a cleg taming guide. Or improved healing items/abilities.

BRIEF RUNDOWN OF CHARACTER INVOLVEMENT: as a part of team grey, luke was not a pain in the ass. he killed some monsters in the unseelie forest using his super awesome badass sword someone in his canon hates him for having, did some planning, annoyed some people by making friendship bracelets with them, and he stole the dara, thus luke becoming the dara thief! excitement abounds.
BOON REQUEST: basically, can he just have a peanut butter sandwich, burnt cookies, and kool-aid. LOVE YOU MOM. or w/e you guys want to give him, he really doesn't want anything?

He will indeed receive, wrapped neatly, two cut halves of a peanut butter sandwich fashioned just in the manner he remembers of his mother.
But with it will come two small boxes; one, rosewood-fashioned and velvet-lined, will hold a necklace with a small pendant of a closed eye. Instructions set into the box inform him that when lifted to the light, the eye will open, reflecting the light in a steady beam to lead him the way to whatever it is he seeks.
The second box will hold a stamped-metal bracelet, fashioned in the manner of two spread wings; when worn, it will help him discern truth from lie, and will flex and tighten about his wrist just perceptibly to warn him of treachery.
The tray that these are delivered upon, when turned over, is revealed to be a shield; fashioned from the familiar scales of Ladon and set in a radial pattern. It is small and strangely light, little better than a buckler; but when he lifts it to protect himself from blows, the scales will shiver and stretch. When worn and raised in his defense, the shield may grow as long as he is tall, and just as wide, never seeming to gain more weight, and will defend as well against magic and the elements as blows of strength.

Connor will be elevated and invited to join the golden-cloaked Golden Cadre by High-King Ridire; and for his work, one of the very teeth he knocked from the bear's mighty jaw will be cleaned and set in cold iron to fashion a cloak pin. While he wears it, his strength will be magnified many times; sword-shattering, at the greatest level.
Even when he is without the token, however, Connor will be informed that a great gift of magic has been granted to him: at will, he may now take a form like unto the great bear he battled: hugely massive, retaining all his human intelligence and memory, but gaining all the strength and senses of his beastly form, and while in it, able to communicate with other beasts after their fashion. Once in this form, he must remain so until moonlight touches his fur, at which point he may again take human shape.
All his clothes and gear will be kept on his person during such transformations.

RELEVANT THREAD(S): Link #1 Link #2 (I made OOC plans (link 1) and posted to follow through on them (link 2) but some drops happened so nothing got threaded. I hope it can still count but understand if it doesn't.
BRIEF RUNDOWN OF CHARACTER INVOLVEMENT: Charles stayed behind to help secure Caer Glaem but the plan was he ran afoul of Kido who punched him out and then Damon bit and drained him (mun gave me permission to have handwaved this since Damon was dropped) to a point of unconsciousness so the telepath couldn't ruin the plans of the sneaky sneakers.
BOON REQUEST: Charles would like to be able to learn more about the history of the Seelie vs UnSeelie conflict and/or the Shards themselves.
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: I'm up for any changes to the boon! He would also appreciate a good horse for traveling.

ROAD TRIP!Charles will be granted the ability to use two fairy-rings to visit the Drabkeeper's castle on Air Leth! He can invoke the first by reciting the words, "Take me to where old books do lie, foxes and feathers and leather-bound spines." This will transport him into the atrium of the castle where the kindly old Drabkeeper will welcome him (and probably offer tea and scones a little too enthusiastically as he doesn't get many visitors), informing Charles he is welcome to make a temporary home in the great library. He will be assigned one of the helper-foxes while a guest. To go home, whenever you please, he must chant the spell, "Take me to where golden skies shine, knights and honour and law over crime." This will put him back in his room in Caer Glaem with anything on his person at the time of his travel.
While on Air Leth, Charles may discover the following and impart it ICly to other characters:
- Morla and Solais were born sisters!
- In the beginning of the Drabwurld there was no light or dark, all was grey and indistinct and full of pain. This slowly changed when "The Mother" placed her daughters there to live. The earliest references of the High-Queens refers to them as Shine and Shade in archaic, almost dissolved writing.
- Shards are part of a person's soul and to own one is to have originated in some small part in the Drabwurld. Every Shard-holder is, technically, a native. This is very old lore and not many modern texts will agree; in fact, they will directly contradict this!
Additionally, Charles will be granted a new fur cloak and riding leathers stamped in a golden sigil of his choosing across the chest.

BRIEF RUNDOWN OF CHARACTER INVOLVEMENT: Terminator fought some Unseelie NPCs off-screen before running into Stiles, whom he took to in a protective manner. He and Connor made plans to attack the bear, which he helped to wound in a later thread. Getting grievously injured at some point, Ben helped to heal him.
BOON REQUEST: A way to permanently leave the Station.
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: N/A.

Terminator will be changed to 70% human, keeping some of his modern accoutrements (such as advanced eyesight/advanced strength that will only function when back in the Station) and will be granted a stately room fit for a knight in Caer Glaem, as a result of being raised to the status of a Gold-Cloak of the High-King Ridire's Golden Cadre.
As well as this honour, he will be assigned a warhorse from the stables and a weapon of his choosing from the forge, custom-made. Finally, he will receive a reasonably sized trunk of gold coins to spend as he pleases if he wishes to go exploring.

BRIEF RUNDOWN OF CHARACTER INVOLVEMENT: boosting morale ... alisha was on team stars, so despite her seemingly appearing as though she's not planning to be helpful, was cussing out (or questioning them! nicely!) the king/queen, being a delinquent as per usual ... she's helped set up camp, waited around for any sickly people to come her way, socialised (!!!), learned some new things about drabwurld and how to actually be a useful human being, and is even trying to think of how her stupid power can be useful. it's not in the thread but it's handwaved that if the camp was under attack she would've tried to defend it with something akin to a bat before fleeing.

BRIEF RUNDOWN OF CHARACTER INVOLVEMENT: (I went on hiatus due to a combination of personal reasons, school, and work just as the event was starting, so I was only able to thread a small amount of event stuff out, despite all the plotting I organized for the team in the gdoc. If this isn't enough, I apologize, and please disregard this boon!)
If Clarisse was the grey team commander, Mako was the team coordinator. He largely oversaw the protection of the noncombatants on their team, and organized a lot of the more stealthy aspects of the raid; sneaking into the castle, filching food, even setting fire to a few of the supply rooms to tie up their enemies. In the battle for the Dara itself, he supplied Luke with firebending coverage, and did his best afterwards to make sure his squad (stealth and noncombatants) used their fairy ring to get home. Upon returning home, he did his best to help with the fires, keeping it from spreading with his firebending, but uh, he's definitely better at making them than putting them out.
BOON REQUEST: Mako doesn't know what to ask for, and writes as much on the paper.
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: Mako hasn't asked for anything, but he is in need of some proper equipment! He's been fighting/doing everything in his clothes coat from home, but a set of light armor (in leather, perhaps meant for a ranger) would be appreciated in future combat. Preferably something meant for maximum mobility, since he doesn't fight with traditional weapons. Or gold. He is always okay with gold.

Mako will receive an invitation to the forge where aelfen-made scale armour will be fitted to him; the light metal will allow him to move quickly and freely while absorbing the shock of any physical attacks and will not retain any heat from flames. Additionally, he will be invited to the Wardrobe to be fitted for three new outfits and granted a small trunk of gold coins.
He will also receive a small pouch of sea prunes.
