THE ROAD TO WAR

Clarisse has one of the family jewels (hurr hurr) of Celegorm's family, and he's gonna about-face from the successful attack on Mair to head south to Caer Glaem reclaim it. By force.

He'll be travelling with some Unseelie folks + ??? (pending mod info and ooc wrangling with other pcs) soldiers, some survived from Mair, some fresh reinforcements. Ideally, a Seelie force will ride out to meet him before he makes it to Caer Glaem, so as not to interrupt PCs there who don't want to participate.

Please fill out this handy chart to list your participation deets if you're interested and so you can plot with other folks! I will update this header post with more info as plans get hashed out. So far:

1. There will be TWO logs! THIS FIRST LOG is for the army in transit and in prep, and THIS SECOND LOG for the battle proper!

2. NPC matchmaking service! There's a lot more seelie than unseelie, so for those who want to actually play out battling orcs, drow, trolls, men, werewolves, or other fun opponents, there will be plenty of opportunities to do that! In the event post, there will be bios of these types of opponents and difficulty ratings, so if you have a character that would mow through the ground troops, you can do that! If you're wanting more of a boss-battle which actually tests your character's strengths, that can be handled too!

3. Event will be forward-dated! The event log for the battle itself will be going up a few days early, for those who have their plans all hashed out and want to get a move on!

BATTLE PLANS: kick celegorm's ass tbh. she'll be heading out to meet him head-to-head so as to avoid any civilian casualties, and she's going to be very adamant about this being her fight. it would be wise not to get in her way.

In any event! They have a great rapport, and I'd love if nothing else to do a great 1:1 epic battle scene between them. Be foul-mouthed at each other. As an elf of the Tolkien variety, he's a lot hardier and stronger than a human, so it's conceivable that he could make a pretty good show.

BATTLE PLANS: Sigrid has quickly become an intelligence system for the Seelie, although there aren't many who know she's involved at all. She has birds (specifically thrushes) as her scouts, since she can understand them. They will be bringing word from Mair and the nearest fairy ring to Caer Glaem and probably here and there in between. Her orders are to take Meera and Sansa and get the hell out of dodge if it looks like the Unseelie will make it to Caer Glaem, but even so, she will have eyes and ears all over the place.

BATTLE PLANS: korra's mainly going to fight to protect the castle and not out of any serious malice towards the elves, so her end goal will be to drive them back. don't be mistaken — she is going to kick lots of ass getting to that point. however, it wouldn't be IC if she wasn't knocked down almost to her lowest peg before getting back up and being awesome. without the avatar state she is severely handicapped, so she won't be quite the powerhouse as she is on the show. other than that i have no solid plans so COME AT ME.

COMPANY: Not particularly, he'll be just flitting about all phantom-.
BATTLE PLANS: So Ganondorf will be sending in his creation, Phantom Ganon to observe the battle. It will fight and lob some balls of lightning around, but it's mostly there to measure the abilities of the Seelie. That said, I'm open to someone fighting and defeating the phantom. It'll be a setback for Ganondorf, since it takes a while for him to make a new Phantom.

Generally speaking, the phantom cannot be harmed except by reflecting its own attacks back at it. Anyone with a magic weapon should be able to handle this or just being able to redirect lightning will serve in a pinch. There's only one phantom, so only one guy gets to do the deed. But if other people wanna fight the phantom and get defeated or stalemated, I'm down with that too.

BATTLE PLANS: after team avatar + appa + reaper spotted the unseelie army coming back from the station, mako went in full on detective mode to see what he could find on the network... about anything, and he will find the original clarisse simaril post, and be doing detective work from there re: most of the demigods and whatever he can find on the tolkien elves, and distributing that information through reaper/korra to the appropriate individuals.

during the battle itself, it seems like he is going to be bisonback with his brother and korra, and doing a tactic that can loosely be described as "throwing a fuckass ton of lightning at unseelie people wearing armor" and "lighting shit on fire too." if at some point he is grounded, he's got armor and is a capable martial artist/firebender, so he can knock some heads with firey chun li kicks/get his own butt knocked about. he's still not over the "killing humans or beings that look really human" sentiment, which might hinder him. unfortunately, being an avatar protag, he's high on the physical skills side of the spectrum, and is one hell of a combination with bolin.

This is a guy strong enough to lift 200 million pounds, so he's going to be kind of a powerhouse in a physical sense. He's gonna be susceptible to strategy and magic, though- so I'm fine with him experiencing a loss in that way. Other than keeping that in mind, I'm fine to have him go through anything if you think he could fit for something you'd wanna do. (Also, don't worry about him killing off or severely injuring your character (unless you want him to) - he has enough self-control to usually prevent that.)

COMPANY: No established groups for Lizzie; she'll be reluctant to jump headfirst into battle herself, although she's REALLY BIG on protecting people and will absolutely help pretty much anybody who seems to need her.
BATTLE PLANS: Elizabeth is very gifted at swordplay, but she isn't used to fighting human beings for real - she usually competes in fencing tournaments and the like. She's tough on the battlefield - she has at least fought humanoid monsters (zombies on a boat, YEAH) - but it's still going to be difficult for her to pull herself together at first. That said, she's going to want to help anybody she can, and she'll absolutely be able to defend herself in one-on-one combat. I'd like for her to get in on the action, but she might need the nudge of seeing someone in distress. Let me know if your character and/or their crew needs a helper!
Of course, being "a genius" with a sword doesn't mean she's infallible; I'm open to her falling injured as well.

It’d be nice if someone powerful enough kicks his ass (he’s a demonic monster with no physical body, so divine/holy people will give him trouble).

ELSA will be doing her best to use her ice powers defensively, not offensively. freezing people's feet to the ground, throwing up ice walls, yadda yadda. i'm up for her fucking up and freezing someone's mind/heart, if you're into that? let me know. for people who haven't seen the movie - her power can literally slowly freeze a person into solid ice forever if they get hit in the chest or head with a blast of power - the head can be removed just by healing magic, but only an act of true love can remove ice from the heart ( awwww ) but uh yeah, as always, I'm up for playing with that!

BATTLE PLANS: RIDING IN ON A BADASS UNICORN LET'S SKEWER SOME BITCHES Thran will legit kick some Unseelie ass if negotiations don't hold up, he's almost 7000 years old and had a bunch of battle experience, along with living through an attack from the Feanorians a bazillion years ago when they sacked his first home to find the Silmaril way back when. Saying that, however, Thranduil is all about negotiations and will try his best to sort out this Silmaril shit without anyone having to battle, so if anyone wants to have a parley first, I'd love him to be there. (It would make more sense than everyone mindlessly slamming their forces together at first sight, perhaps.)
If you want your character to die or have a seething Sinda in their face when negotiations go south, let's do lunch. I've got to figure out how he's going to get wind of all this nonsense first, too.
